Title: 2025 Opponents
Post by: masterfins on December 30, 2024, 10:09:34 pm
In addition to home & away with Jets, Bills, & Pats

Away: Browns, Steelers, Falcons, Panthers, & Indy

Home: Ravens, Cincy, New Orleans, Tampa, Charges, & Washington

One of the "Home" games will be an Int'l game (Brazil, Spain, England, or Germany)

A pretty good schedule for Miami in my Opinion; not a lot of tough teams, and of the road games the Steelers game is the toughest.  Probably about the same difficulty as this season, maybe a little harder.

With just a little bit of improvement Miami could go 15-2, if they win the close games,

Miami could go 15-2,

What are you smoking?  Miami was actually built with a this year or bust mentality.  They aren't improving for next year they aren't even going to be able to keep the majority of the current roster forget upgrading. You might get a decent haul of comp picks in the 2026 draft.

I'm smoking the good stuff.  Not saying they will go 15-2, I could see them going 6-11 easily too.  But a solid draft, a couple veteran FA's that you could squeeze their last bit of talent out of (like a Calais Campbell), and better coaching would make a huge difference.

They have 32 free agents but most aren't vital to the team, and/or, aren't starters.  On Defense the impact players to re-sign would be Holland and Kohou.  On offense it's the lineman, that nobody seems to like - Wynn, Eichenberg, & Lamm.  All the others could be resigned for what they currently make or let them go and replace with others for a similar price tag.  It won't be like last year were they lost some really good players.

Looks like the Int'l game will be in Madrid, Spain.

I think NFL should have preseason games should be international and keep regular season games in home cities.

The NFL realizes that in the increasingly global world, if the popularity of gridiron football doesn't grow beyond the US, basketball and soccer are eventually going to eat their lunch.  Baseball was invincible 50 years ago and look at it today.

I am so disconnected from baseball that it's hard to even judge.  How popular is it?  I can't name one player and I have no idea who won any of the last ten World Series.

I follow baseball year-round...baseball is awesome right now.  Pay no attention to the heckler in the balcony.

Stroke, even you would admit that baseball was far more popular in the past than it is today.  Baseball used to dominate the American sports landscape, and now the most generous thing you can say is that it's a distant second.

Baseball is a great radio sport.  The switch from radio to tv caused the decline.

Interesting theory. I'm not sure I buy into the causation though.
