In the Championship games, I would have preferred KC and Washington, however, since Washington played first and my absolute necessity was for the Bills to lose, I was OK with the Eagles winning, since if the Bills advanced, I wanted them to have the hardest road possible.

Now that it's Chiefs and Eagles, I am not really rooting for either, but I hate this version of the Eagles, so I guess I'm rooting for the Chiefs.  If you told me that I'd be rooting for the Chiefs for multiple consecutive rounds in the playoffs, I'd think you crazy, yet here we are.

Easy call: Chiefs.

Every KC title is one step closer to never hearing the name "Tom Brady" again.

The Chiefs will win.   These games are rigged.   The NFL will do whatever it takes to have Taylor Swift on that stage next to Travis Kelce.  That first down that wasn't for Josh Allen was atrocious, just like the call the week before against Houston.

Root for whoever you want. But there is zero chance of that.   I don't think Dan Marino has any records left and you still hear about him.

I want to get to the point where I hear about Brady as often as I hear about Unitas or Montana.

I don't think the NFL is competent enough to pull it off myself but the conspiracy crowd  keeps getting exponentially bigger with every Chiefs game. Kind of crazy to win every close call, get a penalty when they need it most, or not have them called against you time and time again.

The long punt return last night had more penalties not called than some people have teeth. No one misses all of them.

Conspiracy is getting bigger in general, across all ways of life.  So, no surprise that it creeps into the NFL, too.

 The second most penalized player is a chief so the refs are doing a good job at hiding any favoritism

Australian Jordan Mailata (robbed of a Pro Bowl spot this season) will be starting, which is more than enough for me to cheer for them to end the KC/Taylor Swift tidal wave.

If they do win, I wonder if Lane Johnson (who we should have drafted in 2013 instead of Dion Jordan - that was a huge sliding doors moment) will wear the ugly dog mask again? (I hope so)

I'm kind of leaning towards the Chiefs because there really is no reason to not like what Mahomes and Reid are doing. Although some of their players are great, I really dislike Philly fans.  With that said I just hope the refs call the game down the middle for seemingly the first time this year.

I am rooting for Philly.  I always had the Eagles near the top of my list, ever since I was a kid and used to put my football cards in order of how much I like the team.  Dolphins #1, Bengals #2, Eagles were somewhere in the top 6 or 7.

But over the years I've come to hate Eagles' fans, like many other people have stated.  Most classless fan base I've encountered personally - of course not all fans but, as a whole.  Just terrible.

But I can't sit by and watch the Chiefs run away with another trophy.  Especially the way this season has gone.  Chiefs never scored more than 30 points until the championship game.  They're winning cause their defense is sneaky-good and, of course, a few timely calls by the refs.  I'm not in the "NFL is rigged" crowd but you're lying to yourself if you don't see they blatantly get favor from the officials.  It happens but I don't have to like it. 

The end of the Bengals game sticks in my craw.  That was no more PI IMO than happens on every other play - he was playing the ball.  Whatever.  They should have lost that game. ::)

Just to re-phrase what I said up above.   I don't think the NFL is rigged but some of the playoff games certainly are.   How else can you explain the results from the past few years?   You can't.

^^^ That makes absolutely no sense. I'm not saying it's rigged except some of them??? It either happens or it hasn't happened. There is no gray area.

There's been enough speculation already, so the Chiefs get a sweet ride with the refs in the Superbowl again, the whole thing is likely to blow up. Even the stories meant to dial down the conspiracy theories are just bringing it to attention:

The NFL is on notice for this game, and any perceived favoritism towards the Chiefs will be pointed out and shoved in their face. I don't think they are keen for that to happen.

How do you guys feel about not really caring? When I was younger I always picked one team to root for. Everyone is asking me who I want to win and I honestly don't have an answer. I'm a Dolphins fan. If it was one of the division rivals I would likely be rooting against them but these two don't drive me to care either way.

For sure.  There are lots of years I don't care.  And while this year are two teams that I'm not excited for, I really do hate the Eagles fans and don't want them to experience pleasure.

I guess the Chiefs mostly because Philly Fans are the worst.  However mostly I'll just be rooting for my numbers to come in for the pools i'm in.

I hear so much about Philly fans but I don't get that experience. Pittsburgh fans are much worse around here.

I think this is closest to how I feel.  I rooted for the Eagles all season because I had Saquon on my fantasy team.  But in the end I really don't care who wins, as long as it is a good FAIR game.

I'm not too young to remember that Don Shula's teams were always the least penalized team in the NFL and he was on the rules committee and there was often talks of shenanigans with the refs. Whatever. I haven't seen anything to believe that KC is getting calls that any other team isn't also getting. They are refs, not robots. They make mistakes and will continue to make mistakes, but they also get it right about 99% of the time.

From what I understand Andy Reid is one of only very few coaches who provides a scouting report on the refs to his players.  E.g. this ref is quick to call X, but you need to be blatant to get called for Y, and if you do Z you can often get the ref to throw a flag on the other team.

I know fans (and most players, coaches etc.) expect each team of refs to call things exactly alike.  But in some ways that is as naive as thinking you can prepare for the Bills offense the exact same way you prepare for KC.

That's surprising to me as I would expect all teams did that and not only for football. I know in the MLB umpires all have different tendencies.
