This is a common concept that has withstood the test of time. The game is won and lost in the trenches. When you have a top five draft pick and draft your franchise QB, your next pick should not be the sexy stud WR, but the big bruising OT that can stand people up and has a mentality of "You want a piece of my QB?? The fact they have not been able to solve the trenches overall is what has held us back. We've plenty of skill players who can't get to use it because our lines are weak.

If it doesn't work out, you can blame me. You can't be blamed at all. We really had no choice but to address the loss of quality beef in the trenches first and foremost, even Grier saw that. If it doesn't work out, we all can guess that it's because Grier picked the wrong options again... that said, the first two picks this draft look promising with little risk. |
