Title: Jason Sanders out 4-5 weeks, Jaylen Wright to miss one and maybe more
Post by: CF DolFan on August 25, 2025, 04:33:52 pm
I keep seeing it written that he injured himself in warmups the other night but the truth is he quit kicking during the scrimmage and Bailey kept doing the kickoffs. I didn't actually see Sanders walk to the sideline so Bailey could have done some kicking too. All I know is Bailey was doing the kick-offs while Sanders watched from the side.

While the specific injury hasn’t been disclosed by the team or McDaniel, an ESPN report said it’s a hip ailment which will put Sanders out four or five weeks.

The update comes after it was originally anticipated Sanders would be available for the Dolphins’ regular-season opener Sept. 7 at the Indianapolis Colts, as McDaniel said following Saturday night’s exhibition at Hard Rock Stadium.

“I think he’s going to have a little bit longer,” McDaniel said Monday. “I don’t anticipate him being available at the beginning of the season, but I don’t see a season-ender.”

Jaylon Wright looks like he will miss 1 and maybe more, depending on surgery. This means Ollie Gordon II will likely see significant time.

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright will also miss Week 1 of the regular season when Miami plays the Colts. In the coming days, it will be determined if Wright will need surgery; if he does, then he will be out longer as well.

That's really not good for Wright. I don't think he really did enough last year to justify beating out Mostert (even allowing for his fumbles) during last year, and this preseason he's been clearly outshone by both Mattison (prior to getting hurt) and especially Ollie Gordon II (who's looking more like the best replacement for Mostert).
