Title: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: masterfins on October 07, 2025, 07:38:59 pm A couple names I've seen mentioned:
John Harbaugh - rumors it could be his last year in Baltimore. He's a talented coach and could make a comeback in Miami. Chris Shula - Currently Rams DC. A defensive minded coach could help the defense, which surely needs it. Allows them to bring in a true OC which Miami desperately needs. Whoever the new HC is I would expect a lot of the other coaches to be replaced also. Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? If so, bring him in. That would bring some old timers back to the stadium for sure. Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 08, 2025, 01:57:43 pm McDaniels isn't the problem Grier is.
However...... The greatest possible irony would be if the Dolphins were to hire Bill Belichick, he went 14-3 in the regular season and then won a 15th game in Dolphin stadium by defeating the wildcard Patriots. Having him surpass Don Shula for most wins (regular season and post season combined) as a Dolphin while simultaneously eliminating NEP from their first post Belichick playoff run. Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: Spider-Dan on October 08, 2025, 02:06:06 pm Belichick is busy getting stomped in the NCAA while being managed by his college-aged girlfriend.

I doubt Harbaugh will ever coach a team other than the Ravens...until he retires. I hope that it's still McDaniel. Me too Belichick is busy getting stomped in the NCAA while being managed by his college-aged girlfriend. Is that what the kids are calling it these days? Getting managed? ;) Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: masterfins on October 08, 2025, 10:11:20 pm McDaniels isn't the problem Grier is. However...... There is no way Belicheat becomes coach of the Dolphins. NO WAY. There's a better chance of me becoming a Jets Fan, and I detest the Jets. Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: masterfins on October 08, 2025, 10:19:15 pm Another name to toss into the mix - John Gruden.
I like Gruden, not sure he could elevate this team to a perennial playoff team. I'd be willing to give him a try. Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: Pappy13 on October 09, 2025, 11:49:18 am McDaniels isn't the problem Grier is. If they are going to make a change, this should be it. There's been enough coaching changes for Grier to be a winner with one of them. McDaniels has only ever had 1 GM, I'd like to see if a different GM can make a difference. I'm not sure it can, but I'm willing to give it a shot.Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Unlikely it would happen, but possible. If Ross wanted a move that would instantly take the Dolphins from largely irrelevant to being the lead story on ESPN this is the move. And this would be a hire based on a short stop gap tenure at HC. There is almost zero chance BB would turn down the chance to play against the Jets and Patriots 4 times a year. Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: Sibster on October 10, 2025, 10:38:06 am Lane Kiffin is a name you hear as well Kiffin needs to remain in the college ranks. His offensive philosophy will not work in the NFL. Title: Re: Who will be the Dolphins HC in 2026? Post by: Downunder Dolphan on October 11, 2025, 10:04:20 am I guess as an extension of this (maybe a separate topic in the Anti-Phins chat?) is when does the inevitable fire-sale start, and who is on the list to be culled or kept?
From what I've seen this season, there are three key players worth keeping (and on the flip side, worth something material to other teams in a trade): Achane, Malik W and Paul. Waller has a very limited number of plays to date, but I'd possibly lump him in that pile as well. I'd lean to keeping Minkah too. As much as PFR stats rate our Linebackers this season, on tape, I don't, so they are as expendable as everyone else... subject to the contract restraints that's going to stop a trade. Hill's contract until the end of this year, and Tua's contract until the end of 2026 (at least) means it's unlikely for them. On the surface it looks like Waddle's contract is back-ended, but off hand I don't know the guarantees - knowing Grier, I'd say we're probably stuck with him for a while. That said, there has to be at least a few sacrificial lambs after this mess of a season. Not just coaches, but some public, bloody slaughter of players too. Apocalypse Now style. Post by: Denver2 on November 18, 2025, 07:22:16 pm I think McD gets another year to turn things around but if we start next year like this he’s sure to get fired.
I like coach I hope he gets another crack at it |
