Title: What's Going Well for You Lately? Post by: SCFinfan on April 30, 2026, 10:07:48 am There's enough negativity in the world.
Tell me something nice that's happened to you lately, or something that's turning positive for you in your life. For me, it's stability. Business is good, house is good, kids are healthy, I am healthy, and generally, outside of some small annoyances, I have had wonderfully good luck. Title: Re: What's Going Well for You Lately? Post by: Sibster on April 30, 2026, 10:46:06 am My car is working out great. I'm amazed at the gas mileage a self charging hybrid can get in the city. It really does make a difference. Plus all the technology at my disposal that I didn't even know existed. It takes some getting used to but it's worth it.

Post by: Pappy13 on May 01, 2026, 09:32:41 am I got hired as an employee at American Airlines in December after being a contractor there for the last 2+ years. Got vacation and holiday pay, flight benefits, lowered my insurance costs and added the security of being an employee while not having to sacrifice any in the way of income. Pretty great deal.

And rather than call a repairman or replace the oven, i was able to source the part, replace the burner element and now i have a fully functioning oven again. It's not a huge win, but the total cost outlay was $44 for the part and I feel pretty good about it.

Post by: Pappy13 on May 06, 2026, 01:25:13 pm Congrats. I didn't know you switched airlines last time you mentioned an airline it was Delta. Actually it was Southwest. I worked for Southwest for 13 years on a mainframe application but they finally replaced it with a new client server application about 3 years ago so they let me go and I went to American essentially supporting the same application that I previous supported for Southwest. Thanks everyone for the congrats. I'm actually using my flight benefits for the first time, spending time with my son's family in St. Louis. Title: Re: What's Going Well for You Lately? That is good news. Job security. In my line of work, being busy is good. Title: Re: What's Going Well for You Lately? Post by: masterfins on May 12, 2026, 03:45:31 pm I'm bouncing back from some medical issues I encountered in the middle of March that hospitalized me for a short stay. It's been a much slower recovery than I wanted, but I'm getting there. It sucks when you're use to just running out and taking care of whatever and then you have to rely on others to do some of the simplest things for you. I have a couple great brothers and sister in-laws, as well as friends, that really helped me out, I'm just not the type of person to ask for help.
