So it turns out that the Chargers lost to (what was previously expected to be) the worst team in the league because Mike McDaniel's stale playcalling has been solved by NFL defensive coordinators, which is stifling a generational QB talent.

Not any other time over the last two years, though.  Just literally right now.

I was cheering against him yesterday because I hate the Harbaughs but I feel bad for him.

Of the three units: offense, defense and special teams.  The offense was the least bad.  But sure that loss was entirely on Mike McDaniels.

It's primarily a post about Mr. Teflon Justin Herbert, who has somehow acquired yet another scapegoat for his own failures.  We are 1 game into the McDaniel-era Chargers, and already people are blaming McDaniel for the lack of offensive production against a league bottom-feeder.  Yet a week ago ONE DAY AGO (https://x.com/UnderdogNFL/status/2099163681695191283), people were crowing about how Herbert's laser rocket arm is unlocking plays in the offense that McDaniel simply couldn't use with That Noodle-Armed Guy.

I went on the Chargers subreddit yesterday and, granted -- it was a moment of frustration, but they seemed like they were realizing that Herbert wasn't it.  And they specifically mentioned that it's just more excuses.

I will happily admit that (as the Dolphins are putting up embarrassing performances) I am getting more than a little bit of satisfaction out of the Chargers putting the truth to "Can you imagine if Mike McDaniel had a Real QB like Justin Herbert?" talk we've been hearing for the last 4 years.

MIA is terrible, but LAC was expected to compete for a chip, and (considering the competition) they've looked even worse than the Dolphins.
