So here's my question of the day,  a fire breaks out at your home.  What prized possession of yours do you save?

...and no cheesy crap about saving your life or loved one(s),  hypothetically they're safe.  What MATERIAL thing do you save?  

Mine:  My inner geek / child tries to save my collection of G1 transformers (circa 1984).

I probably go and grab by bowling 300 and 299 plaques, and my PBA national tour autographed bowling pin with over 40 signatures on it.  I hope i never have to deal with that, ever.

assuming my dog is ok, I take my golf clubs.

well if my dalmatian doesnt count as a possession, and i can't carry my grand piano out the door :-(  the next most OBVIUOS possession would be my laptop, that has my whole life on it!  i coudlnt even imagine losing all of the info i have on it, esp stuff for my business.

My dogs would  count as my loved ones.  So I would save my collection of paperback novels, then my home entertainment center.

Much like Tony, if I couldn't grab my piano, I'd just get my laptop.

Yeah, laptop for sure. All my pictures and old stories have been converted digital. I don't think I would lose much as long as I got the laptop.

Probably the wedding album.

Maybe a pack of marshmallows....

As for everything else, well, as I tell my wife every hurricane season, "That's why we have insurance."

Like Maine, Assuming that all pets, and loved ones are safe all material possesions can be replaced. If I could safely make one trip back into the house it would be for my wallet, keys, my photo's (luckily I have them all in one box), and as many of my guns that I can carry as (as an avid hunter I have spent a lot of time sighting these in and have grown quite fond of them)!!!!! Generally I would have said my softball bag with all of my equipment in it but it is always in my truck, I just hate breaking in a new glove!!!!!

I would grab my computer, no doubt.  Its a replacable material possession, but the information contained therein would devastate me if lost.  Not to mention it contains all my photos as well.

I'd hope my wallet and keys would be already in my pocket.

Otherwise, there's a lot of autographed Marino stuff in my house that I'd like to try to save, but nothing I'd risk my life over.

For the easy answer...if my family,and dogs are ok.

That's the second drawer of my bureau,That's my photo album,that also contains My truck titles,Birth certificates,my grandfathers Cubs tickets,(his last one you can see),lot's opf memorbilia.

The Marino box has my Dan Marino rookie card,couple other cards,another pair of dolphins socks.
Below that is my Dolphins watch my sister got me a couple years ago.

Below that was a Collectable remington Knife and Belt buckle,that my Brother gave a for an Early Birthday gift,less than a month before he died.

Other things in the drawer,the infamous "Silk Miami Dolphins Boxers" from Prom (story has been told). My Bikini swimsuit I wore my first year on the swimteam,the Bikini Swimsuit that wore during my drunk Highscore in Diving.My underwear,I wore,before I lost my virginity.

The pair of eyeglasses my mom,paid like $500 for when i was a kid,just to find out I didn't need them.

The other thing I'd try to take would be my Desktop computer,To much stuff I'd hate to lose.


(I know,why not have a fireproof box? We had one at one time,the key broke off in the lock. My Buddy had to take a plasma cutter to get it open again.

Assuming all my fire extinushers, hoses and any other means of putting out the fire didn't work then i would come back for my computer (well assuming all my family members and my dog were already out)

in reality i would fight the fire to the end.

Another vote for laptop.  I'd probably try to grab the hard drive rack out of my desktop computer on the way.

My photo albums , CD books, and my favorite blanket.
