We use the snow tires with the studs on them in Astana. I haven't seen temps above freezing since December. I miss Florida. This brings up a question. You people that live in snowy climated states, is it legal to have studded tires? Here in Oregon we can have studded tires and a lot of people do around here. The messed up part is that we barely get any snow in Portland - maybe an inch throughout winter. And the studs tear up the roads. I've lived in more snowy states that made studded tires illegal. I don't get it with Oregon. Luckilly, it's so cold the snow doesn't melt and have a chance to refreeze as ice. Most of it just blows away. I have a feeling it's going to be slush city around here come April.
