Title: Knicks Rookies Available for Trades
Post by: EDGECRUSHER on February 11, 2006, 12:01:31 am
The Knicks have said that the once untouchable rookies of the Knicks are now available for trades. It would fit in with the Knicks philosophy. The rookies are cheap and have talent, so what the hell would they be doing on the team? They aren't talentless bums with ego problems and maxed out deals.

The Knicks are the worst run franchise in all of sports. The Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates can suck it.

Isaiah Thomas has killed this franchise for at least 5 years. He deserves to be shot. Everything he has ever done in his life outside of playing ball he has failed miserably at.

Even though my Suns really don't need a PF, the AZ Wildcat in me would absolutely LOVE to see Channing Frye in a Suns uniform. We have #1 draft picks to deal with (Atlanta gave us two of 'em, and Boris Diaw for JJ last year...suckers!) and young talent as well.

A big athletic three forward rotation of Stoudemire, Marion and Frye for Nash to dish to ...let me wipe the drool off my keyboard.  :P

Draft picks? But, how would draft picks put the Knicks even further over the salary cap with aging veterans who were, at best, All-Star reserves?

I know, what if you gave us Quentin Richardson in exchange for Kurt Thomas and a first rounder? That would give us a player inferior to Thomas AND rid us of a lottery pick.

^^ ROFL!

For those who don't follow the NBA, the ridiculous scenario EDGE laid out above is exactly what NY did last offseason. Phoenix really made out like bandits on the trade front...God Bless the Hawks and Knicks!

Tell ya what...If the Knicks give us Channing Frye, we'll give back the first round pick and activate a clause in Quentin Richardson's contract that gives New York the right to shoot Richardson with a high powered sniper rifle the next time he airballs a 3-pointer.

I agree.  Thomas keeps on bucking the trend and trading away his expiring contracts to acquire supposedly "talented" players, but it turns out they suck the big one once they get to New York.  They should fire his ass immediately, especially if he's found guilty of sexual harassment.

Patrick!!!  We miss you big fella!!!

I'll tell you nothing made anyone on this board happier than it made me and probably Stroke as well. I remember all of my rants last year about Q and I was happy to get rid of this bum. I agree with you Stroke that if the Suns can find a way to pull off a trade and we can land Frye......whoooo dogggy I would be a really happy happy man!!!! I know this is not really plausible but it is fun to dream!!!!

Does anyone here read Bill Simmons (The Sports Guy)?  He's been killing Isaiah for the past, um, how long has Isaiah been GM?  Anyway, I cannot understand the Knicks.  They need to stand pat or trade veteran players for picks and expiring contracts (who's gonna make that deal?), lose, clean out some of those bad contracts, and rebuild.  Highest payroll in the league and the second worst record...Yikes.

One of my favorite reads...Bill is as funny a sports writer as anyone out there, imo.

Larry Dolan is easily persuaded, which is why he let's idiot GM's spend his Millions with horrible results. Remember, he owns the NY Rangers too and for 7 years, they were pathetic. He let GM Glen Sather do whatever he wanted and they didn't even sniff the playoffs the past 4 years. It's amazing that Sather built this current team.

Isaiah won't get fired until Larry Brown plays some politics. So, the Knicks won't get better and we will trade our draft picks and Channing Frye to the Magic for Grant Hill.

I would not deal Channing Frye at all.  I would keep him, Quintel Woods, David Lee, and Nate Robinson.  Everyone else, including Curry and Marbury, should be deemed as expendable.

Yeah, I wouldn't trade Frye either. That's because we don't have Down's Syndrome, a requirement to be Knicks GM.

I'd get rid of Thomas at the end of the season and give Brown complete control.
