Title: Re: whos watching the WBC? Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on February 12, 2006, 01:58:33 pm Honestly, I will not watch any World Baseball tournaments of any kind because they banned the sport from the Olympics (along with softball).
One thing I'd love to see is a women's professional softball league. Title: Re: whos watching the WBC? Post by: EDGECRUSHER on February 12, 2006, 04:25:31 pm I'll catch an inning or two, but the truth is the American players don't really care while the Dominican Republic guys do, so it won't hold much interest for me. DR will win going away.
Title: Re: whos watching the WBC? Post by: Sunstroke on February 14, 2006, 10:34:28 pm I'm going to watch as much of the US squad's games as I can...especially since they just named two of my favorite pitchers to their 4-man rotation, Jake Peavy and the D-Train. How can I NOT cheer for 'em now? ;D Title: Re: whos watching the WBC? You really can't create a league and tell people watch it. There has to be a demand and then league recognition. Title: Re: whos watching the WBC? There has to be a demand and then league recognition. When I was a kid, I got to be a batboy for the Prescott Thunderbirds, who were in a regional (AZ-CA-NM-NV-UT) women's pro league. I had the hots for their second baseman, Cheryl Rosser, for years... Games every thursday night at Ken Lindley Field...my Dad was usually on the mic, and it was the only night during the week that I wasn't trying to hustle quarters (or free concession stand goodies, after they got tired of paying us cash) by shagging foul balls that left the park. Good times... |
