Title: Movie Review: RoboCop Post by: Dave Gray on February 25, 2006, 12:14:24 am Premise: In a futuristic Detroit, a rookie cop is gunned down by a gang leader, and a large corporate contractor uses his body to create a cyborg that threatens to take down the corrupt -- even those that created him.
Rating: Very Good. For what this was -- it was great. It didn't pull back with violence, and it seemed like satire to me. It was very over the top with it's version of the future, and overall, I think it was well done. I also like this dude's other film Starship Troopers, for the same reason. They are cheesy, plot-wise, but it's almost the point, as it's spoofing a reality that we're doomed to create. Title: Re: Movie Review: RoboCop Post by: Thundergod on February 25, 2006, 09:22:29 am One of the best films to date. No holds barred! PG-13 can suck it, this film would never have made it to the screen these days, if it did, it would have ended up like Doom.
Kudos to Starship also... Good call Dave! This was by far one of the best movies. You know when HBO played movies. Robocop was played all the time.

Good call Dave! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v693/lordthundergod/puke.gif) "Doom" was a better movie than most people give it credit for. Granted, it wasn't Rocky's best performance but I thought it was alright. If "Doom" had come out when RoboCop came out, it would have been a cult classic. You don't think it'll be a cult classic in about a decade? People in hollywood these days need to make movies for all audiences to cash in as much as they can by dumbing down storylines and keeping violence to a minimum. Directors feel the need to change the story from every game they use for a movie, thus creating the smelly turds that are released. As a gamer that is uncalled for. The stories are written and mapped out for you within the game, all that needs to be done is adapt a screenplay to fit the plot and bring it to the big screen and "real life". The Doom movie abandoned the "hell" issue, blasphemy. I agree with you though, Doom would have been a cult calssic if it were made back then.
