Title: Adultery Post by: SCFinFan on February 26, 2006, 05:20:52 pm Something happened to me recently that got me thinking about it.
What do you guys think? Is adultery bad? Or is it ok in some cirumstances? Should there be laws against it? Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Frimp on February 26, 2006, 05:32:45 pm Yes, I think its bad. There is no worse way to betray someone.
Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Sunstroke on February 26, 2006, 06:58:23 pm As someone who sleeps with another man's wife on a fairly regular basis, you may find it extremely hard to believe that I am vehemently opposed to adultery. My situation is a little different though, as we have her husband's blessings to romp like rabbits whenever our hearts desire...he has no interest at all in physical relations at this point. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: ADeadSmitty on February 26, 2006, 07:14:28 pm Huh. Weird.
Title: Re: Adultery Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on February 26, 2006, 07:36:41 pm OK, here's another good question....... would having cyber sex with other women online and through text messages be considered a form of adultery as long as you don't physically meet with the other women?
I got in MAJOR trouble with my wife for that once. I'd love to hear other people's opinions. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Thundergod on February 26, 2006, 07:52:58 pm Why have a GF or wife if you feel the need to commit adultery? Oh yeah that's right, most people are insecure and scared of being alone for the rest of their natural lives. Adultery sucks both ways, if you think it's ok, then be single. There's nothing worse than pretending to love someone.
As for the cyber sex, Tommy, reverse the situation, if your wife was doing the same with some dude, would you be pissed? If not, dude, you got thick skin my man! I think it's messed up, even if it isn't real, but that's just me. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: GUATARICCAN on February 26, 2006, 11:50:24 pm Oh! If I caught my girl having text sex, I'd flip the fuk out!
Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Buddhagirl on February 27, 2006, 06:58:03 am Adultery is not cool. My parents split after 30 years due to my dad's cheating on my mom. That one thing changed our lifes completely.
He started off with cyber sex (or at least chatting all the time.) My parents would fight about that. Then next thing I knew he announced that he was leaving my mom. If Buddhaboy sleeps with some other chick he can have her. I wouldn't want him. Then I'd hunt the bitch down, but that's a whole other topic. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Denver_Bronco on February 27, 2006, 07:34:38 am Adultery is married people's problem. Doesn't bother me a bit...
Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Predatory_Fins on February 27, 2006, 10:25:50 am Adultery is married people's problem. Doesn't bother me a bit... atleast we know you're going to hell for sure then. Be sure to tell your kids goodbye before you die, because unless their as scummy as you, you won't be going where they go. I'm sure hell has plenty of room for lowlifes such as yourself, denver. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: jtex316 on February 27, 2006, 10:28:44 am I don't have any religious beliefs, so I question as to whether Denver_Bronco is "going to hell".
Is Sunstroke going to hell, too, in that case? Or is different because the Husband-in-Question said it was "OK"? It's still technically adultery, regardless of the approval or disapproval of the husband. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Denver_Bronco on February 27, 2006, 10:34:18 am atleast we know you're going to hell for sure then. Be sure to tell your kids goodbye before you die, because unless their as scummy as you, you won't be going where they go. Lets see why don't you insult me about my job, or my girlfriend again,I've never seen you say that before , and speaking of jobs, how's tax evasion working out for you I'm suprised you haven't been locked away yet for being such a lovely moral individual, well if anyone considers a gamble-holic druggie tax evading scumbag an upstanding individual. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Dave Gray on February 27, 2006, 11:17:21 am Adeltery sucks, but it shouldn't be illlegal.
As for text sex....I'd dump my girlfriend if she was doing it -- not because it's wrong, but because she's a huge dork. Denver is a very simple minded creature, and he also suffers from delusions of grandeur, he also has a huge fan in dave, so I think he could probably anally rape daves mother and dave would still worship the ground he walks on ;D Title: Re: Adultery Post by: pintofguinness14 on February 27, 2006, 12:20:31 pm he also has a huge fan in dave, so I think he could probably anally rape daves mother and dave would still worship the ground he walks on ;D And on that note, I'm going to bed. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: crazy_scar_man on February 27, 2006, 12:45:04 pm Adultery definitely shouldn't be illegal. There are enough consequences involved already.
In regard to cyber sex, I think it's on another level. If I found out the wife was screwing another guy, it would be immediate grounds for divorce. If I found out she was involved in a cyber relationship with someone, I would want to know why (i.e. she doesn't love me anymore, she's rebelling etc.). That's something I would work through as long as she stopped. Unless it was another woman, in which case I'd invite the bitch over for some tea and crumpets and get it on like donky kong. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: TonyB0D on February 27, 2006, 12:52:49 pm i have no problems with adultery.....i'm a legally registered home-wrecker
Title: Re: Adultery Post by: MaineDolFan on February 27, 2006, 01:19:05 pm There are some many doors that cheating opens...it's not even funny. From a pure physical safety issue, let me explain why adultery SHOULD be illegal:
There are instances were an STD can be transmitted to someone through other instances OTHER than sex. Sorry let's say there is a married dude and he gets his wife pregnant. Married dude screws "someone else." Someone else tells married dude that "she's clean." Well - it turns out that "someone else" didn't notice that lesion inside her and passes syphilis along to the married guy. Unlike the horror stories that they tell you in junior high sex ed, not all STDs will bring about symptoms. So a couple days later - married guy has what he thinks is the 24 hour flu. All better. Than a week later he has this rash thing on his hands. It doesn't hurt, goes away in a day or so. Married guy thinks it's from the laundry detergent or something along those lines. Nope. Married guy had classic symptoms of one of several STDs, including HIV. But in this case, let's stick to syphilis. So married guy makes love to his wife and passes along said syphilis to Mom / wife. Mom / wife also doesn't show symptoms and she's at 6 months. IE - no more blood tests until the baby is born. Syphilis passes to baby and they discover it when the baby is born with severe birth marks and is partially blind. See - married guy, "someone else," and mom / Wife can go and get shots and clear up the syphilis. The little baby that did nothing wrong? Yep, that little one will be dealing with daddy's cheating ways her entire life. Mom / Wife can leave. That poor baby? What can she do? And what if syphilis isn't just syphilis? What if married guy passed along HIV? I love my wife. Hurting her would be something that I would never get over. Putting her life, or someone else's life, at risk is something that is simply not forgiveable and should be a crime. If you're married and you want to have cyber sex with someone else, get a divorce. If you're married and want to text message sex crap with someone else, get a divorce. And if you're married and you have the slightest inkling that you are going to sleep with someone else - MAN UP AND GET A DIVORCE. Give your spouse the dignity of HONESTY. Cheating sucks, under ANY circumstances. Vows. Remember those? People are free to F whomever they want, married or not. Â Marriage is a contract. Â If you F someone else while in a contract, you're simply breaking the clauses and rules set forth therein. Now what if you're a married couple who likes to swing? What if your husband doesn't give a F? (Sunstroke's case) What if your wife doesn't give a F? What if you designate 1 day of the year as "F someone else" day, and you have at it? Adultery is a private issue, and should be handled privately. Â Personally I don't see the big deal - honest. Â If you're married, and your wife goes and F's someone else, just get a divorce - end of story. Â Or if you don't a shit, say you're gonna F someone of your choice to "even the score" and move on. Â Welcome to the real world people, a lot of married people screw around in this country, get used to it. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Ryan on February 27, 2006, 01:43:29 pm Denver_Bronco will you please take that figure skating fag off of your signature? Some dude just walked into my office at work and saw like three pictures in a row of that fairy dude. Now I'm getting ragged on by all the guys.
Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Brian Fein on February 27, 2006, 01:46:39 pm y'all are gonna call me a raging pussy, but I don't care.
The bigger problem is people getting married in the first place.  If you have the desire to cheat on your spouse, you probably shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.  People are too quick to run down the aisle these days, and don't take it seriously anymore cause as Maine said, they can just get a divorce if they change their mind or fight about the color of paint in the berdoom. The divorce rate has been climbing, and no one cares.  I'm not advocating working through a cheater.  I'm saying that if your spouse is "worth marrying," you should WANT to cheat. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: Denver_Bronco on February 27, 2006, 01:47:10 pm Denver_Bronco will you please take that figure skating fag off of your signature? Some dude just walked into my office at work and saw like three pictures in a row of that fairy dude. Now I'm getting ragged on by all the guys. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: JVides on February 27, 2006, 01:56:20 pm I'm with Maine on this one (well, mostly).  I don't necessarily think it should be illegal; there's civil punishment galore for adultery.  However, people who dismiss the effects of cheating simply have not thought about how they'd feel if they were cheated on, or how their actions affect other people. It's not as simple as "kick the bum out" or "just get a divorce".  Sometimes, there're kids involved.  How do you explain your actions to your kids? Â
I've always thought that the qualities that make for a noble man include keeping his word and honoring a contract. Â Strictly from that standpoint, what kind of man violates the most important contract he'll ever sign by cheating on his wife? Â I don't get it. A little bit of my work perspective.... I see it everyday at work, both sides of it.We have a Office Policy,We never divulge results of what we find over the phone.A.) we need to get paid B.)We need to check thier mental state. Some of these people as soon as they find out,Go postal. There isn't anthing in the conference room,so we don't get hurt...The table is bolted down, the chairs are very heavy...The pictures have safety glass, and are bolted to the wall. They all have the thought, the inkling, that thier spouse is cheating or they wouldn't be here. They know the outcome could be that they're cheating, yet they still flip out. Some of them of them sob uncontrollably,Some of the women, look up at you like Ok,I'll get even by screwing you right now....I've had few, that have No reaction what so ever...they Scare me to death.Since I've been here we've had to notify the police that someone has turned so violent, that they may try to kill thier spouse,6-8 times... It's been discussed 1000 times about bringing in a certified counsler,or psychologist on full tie to deal with the aftermath of what we have told them.(another topic) I'd say the divorce rate of the married people that we find evidence of infidelity is fairly low...about half (I figured it would be 75-80%).We check the papers everyday,to see the divorces, and keep track of them, and compare them to our files. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A couple of personal No one has brought up the Trust factor..I couldn't live with someone that I couldn't trust, let alone tell them my innermost feelings.Once that person has cheated it's always out there. That trust is never the same,it can never be tottally repaired. What kills me the most...the Average joe guy...He works at the garage,or some factory, maybe owns his own house, devoted father,Loves his wife with his whole heart. He typically has married up,she was hot stuff, not the queen of the double wide...They might have some money problems, but all in all not bad....She cheats on him because he's boring,he works all the time, doesn't take her out anymore, doesn't pay her enough attention. I just as hard on him, when he cheats. What Maine says scares the hell out of me... Title: Re: Adultery Post by: NYFan204 on February 27, 2006, 08:20:20 pm It's funny, I never looked at it as what my wife would know, I all ways looked at it as what I would know and have to live with.

Title: Re: Adultery Post by: SCFinFan on February 28, 2006, 09:23:51 am Wow, this thread has really taken off. I see alot of people are affected by it, or at least everyone has an opinion on it.
When I was younger (18) I fell in love with a woman for the first time. It was really great. Unfortunately, she very quickly cheated on me. Man, it ruined my entire year. It made me constantly wonder and worry about myself, along the lines of: "Why can't I seem to keep a relationship together? What's wrong with me?" The same things happen to me in breakups. It's just hard to feel rejected, not cared about. It's worse, I'd say, than having a loved one die. For if they die, that's it, there's nothing you can do about it, it wasn't your fault, you had nothing to do with it. If they cheat, or if they leave you, the thought always haunts you, "Did I do something wrong? What did I do?!" Or, well, that's how it is for me anyway. What do you guys think? Is rejection, cheating worse (i.e. harder to take) than the death of someone you love? Title: Re: Adultery Post by: JVides on February 28, 2006, 09:35:17 am Quote Is rejection, cheating worse (i.e. harder to take) than the death of someone you love? No, for me nothing's tougher than someone I love dying. At least with rejection, you can replace the sense of loss with anger, or go get with the first hot babe that crosses your path. With death, there's just grief. Title: Re: Adultery Post by: myami54 on February 28, 2006, 09:49:51 am If it seems bad it probably is bad.

That would piss me off because my friend also betrayed me. But that's a different scenario; I would expect a friend to both refuse my g/f's advances, and tell me about it. That's what a friend should do. I don't expect that from a stranger.I really don't see anything wrong with being the "accomplice," so to speak. Like I said, cheaters cheat, so why does it matter who it's with? If some guy is sleeping with my girlfriend, that's my problem, not his. |
