Title: New Years Resolutions: Update
Post by: Brian Fein on March 01, 2006, 09:04:27 am
With 2 months of the "new" year officially in the books now, its time to fess up and let us know how badly you're doing on the resolutions.

So - have it out.  Who's actually stuck to it, and who's jumped off the wagon?

Personally, I don't think I ever got on the wagon, but it is still on my to-do list! :)

My new Years Resolution was to remember people names when I meet them.
Sorry Guatarican, I know you think this is so lame but not everyone can be as cool as you.
Surprisingly, I'm doing pretty good with it and still practicing.  I'm really trying.  And I'm getting great results from doing something just as simple as remembering a name.

I'm going to bring you to a party full of people you don't know and introduce you to 100 new people and see how well you do... ;)

Hey! Thats just mean.

Don't worry, I don't even know 100 people and I rarely get invited to parties...

I plan on making sure that I take care of myself.  I work from home, so it's easy to let yourself get sloppy.  I want to keep myself and my work area neat, and make sure I get out for excercise regularly.

I am still pretty much on track.  I have been playing basketball once or twice every week, and I have been taking care of my myself pretty well.

I think people who make "New Year's Resolutions" have something wrong in their brains (Except you Sugarbush, I love you baby  :-*).

Does it HAVE to be the start of a New Year to make a resolution?  Can't you make a March 11th resolution or something like that?  It's not like just because the year changes, that everything that happened before is magically erased from the annals of time.

My New Year's Resolution (every year) is to never make a New Year's Resolution.  So i'm rocking it!!!

I think people who rebel against New Years' Resolutions are sissy rebel wannabe's.  Is it gonna hurt you to try to make yourself a better person one time per year?  When was the last time you made a March 11th resolution?

The point is no one makes a resolution unless they have a reason to do so, and the new year serves as a reason.

I don't understand people being anti-resolution.  January first represents a new beginning.  I suppose that it's just an arbitrary date, but it's how our society has pretty much agreed that we're tracking new years as of January first.

Of course people could theoretically just pick any date to make changes, but like many other things -- it's a kick in the ass.

I am like JTEX and am anti-resolution. Many people like Brian (sorry Brian) never even really get started so it's not really a kick in the ass for them. Also I read soemwhere that statistically it is better to make a lifestyle change resolution at a time of year other than New Years. The reason behind that is most New Year's resolutions end up broken, but if you are doing it on your own (rather than for the sake of New Year's) there is more of a commitment.
