Title: The TV show "Lost"
Post by: Pats2006 on March 01, 2006, 12:17:37 pm
Do any of you watch Lost?  This has to be one of the most addicting shows to watch. (Besides Sopranos)

The story lines are just cool as shit.

we've already had a long thread about it, go gravedig a little and you'll find it.  i've never seen the show, and dont plan on it since its a "paranormal" show, and i cant stand anything on TV thats not real.

some of the guys on here like Dave are real hard-core into it

I was curious if those guys are still hanging in there in terms of watching it. As I may have mentioned in the other thread, my observations are these shows typically end without solving any of the questions. I was curious if these guys still had hope of finding anything out or if they had given up.

My wife has watched this since the start. I never got into it because I was too busy with other things. I sat and watched an episode with her prior to Christmas, and now watch it every week. I am trying to catch up on season one with the DVDs.

I got way behind because of the hurricane.  I have since caught up and DVR it each week.

I don't want to commit to each week, so I'll only watch them on DVD.  Season 1 was awesome and I can't wait to start season 2.  I just hope they start answering more than they introduce.

This show is right up with "24", The Simpsons,  and (geek alert!!) "Battlestar Galactica" as one of my four favorite shows.

You'll be disappointed.  They hardly answer anything.  Every week the trailer looks like "damn this episode is gonna be awesome" and every week nothing gets solved.  I'm looking for answers to the long term story line, but each week it seems they introduce a new problem, do some stuff, and its resolved by the end of the show.  Nothing is happening in terms of the long-term story, and its pissing me off.

I will continue to watch it every week, though, and I also TiVo every episode.

Anyone have any theories on the stuff that showed up on the clock when it ticked down to zero?

Allegedly (my wife went Internet hunting) the Hieroglyphs mean "death comes for you" or something similar.  There was a weird humming, too, which people think might have been the island's "strange electromagnetic properties" being unleashed.  Some people think that when the clock goes to zero, the Island's magnetic properties act up and attract something (like a plane, a boat...).  Of course, I never saw anyone's watches and necklaces flying off their bodies when the clock hit zero, so I'm not sure I buy that theory.

Well, when the clock hit zero, the only one there was Locke, and last I saw he's not wearing any jewelry.

Its an interesting theory...  I got a good screen-cap of the clock as it was winding down, and it definitely looks like heiroglyphics, but I don't know how to translate that stuff.

When we saw the hieroglyphics, Laura said "I wonder how many dorks will go on the internet and look those up?"
Later that night, Laura was looking them up on the internet. She's a dork.

The bird ("U" or "W") and the curvy line ("S") were there, but the shovel looking thing and the candle aren't listed here.

I fell behind too! I came to the decision of just waiting for season 2 on DVD to come out to catch up!

Those were on my wife's Xmas wish list but I absolutely could not find them anywhere.

Been watching since the beginning.  I'm with Brian though, they hardly answer any burning questions (obviously), and I was close to quitting watching the show when they introduced the other people from the plane.  But alas they don't focus much on them so I keep on keepin' on like a housewife watching her soaps.

I'm not addicted to the point where I'm trying to figure out the mysteries of the damn show (who cares) but it's a pretty good show for what is out on TV nowadays.

Annoying thing about the show for me:  Why is it that everyone is no longer afraid to walk in the jungle alone anymore with the supposed creature (that doesn't get mentioned anymore) lurking about?   ???   ...whatever

I think Grace Park and Tricia Helfer make most guys casual fans at the very least.

The better question is WHY IS THE FAT GUY STILL FAT!!? You see these mofos on Survivor and after day 7 you start seeing them thin out! I love Hugo just like the next guy, but come on tell the guy to go on a diet for the shows sake.

That was kind of answered two weeks ago, when they showed him pigging out on his hidden stash!

I wasn't wild about Battlestar Galactica. Over rated if you ask me, but I only saw the 3 hour Mini series. So maybe it gets better late during the season. I just didn't really like any of the characters except for the Doctor who was responsible for the cylons taking over and the main captain. The tough chick, who gets thrown in jail, is quite possibly the worst character for a show since they added Seven to Married with Children.

well atleast you and I have ONE thing in common.  There are more questions than answers now.   Who the hell is "he"? Why are the "others" disguising themselves?  Any theories?

There are more questions than answers now.

that's the most frustrating thing about the show. each week there are more questions than answers.

dave and I have talked about the possibility of the show writers coming up with all this shit with no way to tie it altogether.

when they finally cancel the show, i hope the end isn't another twin peaks or quantum leap.

there's a black fog monster, a polar bear, horses, hallucinations and a gazillion other things.

the polar bear and the horse are part of the medical experimentation that's going on there.  the black fog monster is "the island's security system"  Not sure how that works, I didn't like that part.

There is alot going on, they answered some of it tonight.  I'm glad we know (a) who is Ethan and (b) where did Claire go when she was kidnapped.

Now, we need to figure out why they wanted the baby.

I have a theory..........

What was wrong with the end of quantum leap?

Run_To_Win...where's my Grace Park cheesecake pic?  Get on that, man!  By the way, nice pic of Tricia Helfer...
