Title: Suns beat down on Dallas
Post by: Sunstroke on March 05, 2006, 06:24:53 pm
What a great game today between two of the West's top teams, Phoenix at Dallas. The Mavs led for most of the game, but the Suns kept things close. Down the stretch though, the Suns went nova on Dallas, outscoring the Mavs 18-6 in the final 5 minutes to pull out the 115-107 road win. Boris Diaw had his second triple double of the season with 24 pts, 10 rebounds and 10 assists (zero turnovers...just like his first triple-double). Nash and Marion got their own 20-10's in, and Barbosa added 20 pts as well. I like to see the Suns go on the road and play well against the top teams, and they definitely did that again today.

(...and just imagine if it had been Amare starting at PF instead of James Jones there)

Suns win streak is now at 10 games, and at 41-17, they're about ready to lock up the Pacific. I still think the Suns can make a run at the top seed in the west, but it looks like they are likely to remain the #2 seed. We have to play San Antonio twice in the next 10 days, so we'll get a better read on how we stack up against the best.

! ! ! GO SUNS ! ! !

It was a good game. I think that if Dallas had been full strength they would have won though.

Is a Suns team without Amare really "full strength?"

Bottom line is Dallas is one of the elite franchises in the NBA and the Suns went in there and took one. I'm not putting Phoenix above San Antonio or Dallas, but I'm telling them they'd better watch out, because the most explosive power forward on the planet is about to rejoin a team that's looking rather elite itself even without him. Ten straight wins overall and 5 straight wins on the road. I think the Suns will be able to contend with anyone come april...san antonio, detroit, dallas, miami...anyone.

i saw diaw's game .. call it a trple double .. but i wasn't impressed .. he had some boneheaded shots and some poor decisions

must be easier getting a triple double on a team that does nothing but shoot outside and plays hot potato with the ball

Joe Tex must have gotten on to Fausto's computer...that's the only reasonable explanation for that kind of ridiculous statement. Poor deccisions? Diaw has zero turnovers in his two triple doubles combined...sounds like he's making excellent decisions to me.

Phoenix 2: Miami: 0

Suns by 18 over Miami at home, Suns by 8 over Miami on the road. Look to critique your own "lesser" team before stepping up to dog the Suns.

yea yea yea the Suns yada yada yada yada - champions of the regular season.

Celebrate beating up a Dallas team that was both beatup and due for a loss anyway. Once again a physical team that plays half court in the playoffs when its on & keeps those cute perimeter passes in front of them will silence the Pheonix flea circus. Until then, expect many more threads like these from Suns fans.

LOL..............some people never learn. The spurs are still the team to beat in the western conference until proven otherwise. Suns fans remind me of INDY COLTS fans. Paper champions.

I like how everyone is quick to bag on the Suns when they have played this entire season with their best player on the sidelines. Where would the Celtics be without Pierce, Heat without Wade, Spurs without Duncan, Lakers without Kobe, Mavs without Dirk.......ask yourself that question. The answer......no where near where Phoenix is this year without Amare!!!!! The Spurs and Dallas for that matter don't want to paly the Suns right now. I am not saying they will win the whole thing but for crying out loud give them some credit!!!!!
