Title: Restaurant Food Review: Penne Rustica
Post by: Brian Fein on March 25, 2006, 03:11:18 pm
Restaurant: Macaroni Grille

Dish: Penne Rustica

Genre: Italian

Summary: Imported penne pasta with shrimp, grilled chicken and smoked prosciutto baked under a golden crust of Parmesan cheese.

Cost: $9.79 for lunch, $12.49 for dinner

Comments:  This meal has quickly risen to the top 5 of my favorite restaurant foods of all time.  Penne pasta is tossed with grilled chicken and shrimp and prosciutto in a creamy alfredo sauce to form a taste sensation unequalled by any other dish.  Add some freshly grated parmesan cheese and you have a hearty meal that will clog even the widest arteries.

While Macaroni Grille has always been a favorite of mine, this dish really takes the cake.  Coupled with plenty of their rosemary bread as well as olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dinner...... let's just say I was in heaven.

I've never even been in a Macaroni Grille.  Where the hell is one?

They're all over the place.  Just look in the Yellow Pages and you'll find one.  However, I believe you told us you don't eat meat, so you might want to order this dish without the chicken.

Yeah, there's no good food in Florida. There's no fresh citrus or mangos or seafood or Cuban food or South American food.

Its not terrible, its standard chain-style italian food.
Its not Poppa Tony's Italian or DiSalvo's, but it offers different things.
