Title: Need Help - Annual Physical Post by: jtex316 on March 26, 2006, 11:29:08 pm Why is this such a god damn pain in the ass?
I'm looking for a medical center or physician or WHOEVER DOES THIS type of stuff. Like your eyes and your teeth, you're supposed to get an annual physical check-up as well (right?) Well why is it so God Damn difficult to find a fucking doctor or medic or whatever the person that does this is called? I called a medical center in Boca Raton, FL, and I told them "I was wondering if you provide physicals or annual check-ups?". The answer was "Ummmm.....well....tell me what's wrong with you?". I said "Well that's what I'm looking for". The reply "Huh??". My final words I said "I'm looking for a yearly check-up. Can you help me?". Her final words to me: "........" (she didn't answer, and I heard what was her covering the phone with her hand and asking someone what the hell was I asking - so I hung up the phone). So that didn't work, so I'd figure why the hell not - let's go online and find some information!!! Guess what - the results were even worse. Every search term i've tried and every combination of words leads me to the same shit - Eye exams, Dental exams, and Pain Management Centers for people who've been in car accidents and suffer from chronic back and neck pain. What the hell is going on around here? I live in BOCA RATON, FLORIDA, the Eastern capital of dying old people from New York. You mean to tell me I can't find a single place in my area that can give me a check-up to make sure everything's OK, pat me in the ass and say "good job - see ya next year!"????? So i'm asking for your help. A Phone Number, a website...maybe i'm searching for the wrong term or thing? Do physicians do this type of shit? Title: Re: Need Help - Annual Physical Post by: Brian Fein on March 26, 2006, 11:50:51 pm typically, I go to a cardiologist for this type of thing, but that's mainly because my heart health in my family is a primary concern. They'll do bloodwork, and maybe make you run on a treadmill, EKG's, etc.
Otherwise, if you just need a form signed for work or something, go to any walk-in clinic, and they can take care of it for you. Title: Re: Need Help - Annual Physical Post by: CF DolFan on March 27, 2006, 08:24:06 am I get an annual physical every year from my family practice doctor. He has sent me to a specialist when blood work has come back high such as my liver enzymes being too high but he schedules all the bloodwork and does the hands on work. :o. This is what everyone is supposed to do along with two dental cleanings. I don't understand why your doctor's receptionist appears to be clueless!

Title: Re: Need Help - Annual Physical Post by: MaineDolFan on March 27, 2006, 11:21:02 am Family Practice. Blood work really only needs to be done on someone over weight or over 30 for numbers. What Brian described is a stress test and, if you are other wise healthy, you don't need that.
Brian - what kind of Doctor do you have?? Title: Re: Need Help - Annual Physical Post by: Brian Fein on March 27, 2006, 11:40:58 am Brian - what kind of Doctor do you have?? I don't have a primary care physician. I typically don't go to the doctor, and when I do, its usually straight to a specialist. |
