Title: NETS Atlantic Champs? Post by: CRASSMONSTER on March 29, 2006, 11:35:01 pm Could it be that the ever so tired Nets are actually gonna pull this one out of there ass AGAIN?
Nets have been playing with a vengence beating Detroit and Phenix. Tonights game with the Grizzlies was a joke but having the rest of the season playing at home helps alot. The question is...West who's it going to be the Spurs again? And if so can they get pass the Pistons or the Heat to meet them in the championship? Title: Re: NETS Atlantic Champs? Title: Re: NETS Atlantic Champs? Post by: EDGECRUSHER on March 30, 2006, 05:25:51 pm Well, how can they not win the Atlantic? The 2nd placed team is 6 games under .500 It's the worst division in the NBA with the worst team in the Knicks.

You might be correct today... but next year, I don't think you're gonna be able to say that. Marbury's definitely gone, and Francis will be the new PG. Look for them to get a rugged PF that can rebound and defend (Garnett). Plus, if Eddy Curry don't get in shape and start playing some defense, he could be gone at the end of next season. The knicks are in serious trouble. God couldnt turn that roster into playoff contenders in one year. Like i've stated before the knicks have too many guys who do one thing "SHOOT". Their's absolutely no committment from anyone on the defensive end. Steve francis looks like he got old overnight, he has no explosion to his game. Marbury has 60 million coming to him over the next 3 years. What dumb general manager is going to be willing to take on that salary along with his baggage. The knicks are going to be the laughing stock of the association for a long time. Larry brown wont last beyond next year. As for the nets, lets see if you can beat the heat in a 7 game series. Until that happens i'll remain skeptical. We all know vince carter's reputation come playoff time. Title: Re: NETS Atlantic Champs? Dude, I'm a Knicks fan but Jesus Christ himself couldn't make them win 30 games next year. Okay, let's say we trade Marbury. Who do you think we will get in return? Some other overpaid All-Star reserve with $90 Million left on his deal. Steve Francis sucks and has been overrated since he joined the league. Guy has made every team he has ever played for worse. Eddy Curry is in the same spot. He has a MASSIVE contract, you can't just trade these guys without getting garbage in return....unless Isiah is fired and we trade with the team he is now the GM of. As far as Granett goes, there is NO WAY we get Granett. We have nothing to trade for him. Frye and Nate and a 2087 first rounder(the next year we have a #1 pick)won't be enough. |
