Title: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: jtex316 on April 10, 2006, 10:47:05 pm The following "common courtesies" are hated by me.
Holding a Door for someone Usually, if someone is behind you, you're supposed to hold the door for them - and heaven forbid it's a woman. Are you people babies that you can't hold the door on your own? I actually don't like it when someone holds the door for me, because I have to say "thank you" and smile and be polite, even if I'm not in the mood for that shit. Letting a woman "go" first This happens a lot on our elevator. If there are any women or a woman, the are 'allowed' out of the elevator first by the men / guy. What a crock this one is. I've never done this, and no woman has ever been upset with me, so tough. Telling someone "Do you mind if I ask you a question? Let's get this straight. You're asking someone if you can ask them a question? Just ask the fucking question! You've already asked them a question, by asking them permission to ask questions, so you might as well go ahead and ask them the question. If you don't get an answer, then you know they don't want you to ask. "Oh...you can go in front of me" This is probably the one where I benefit the most from. Ever in a grocery store and standing in line with 1 item, and the person in front of you examines you, what you're carrying, and says "Oh....you can go in front of me". I love this, because i would never ever ever let this happen. Why would I? It just wastes time to let them go in front of you, when all you wanna do is get the hell out of there as fast as possible. Saying "Does Anyone Want Anything"? Again, people are lazy and don't want to do shit. Can't you get it yourself? Religion or Politics Apparently, it's considered rude and impolite to ask anyone at anytime about religion or politics. Since when? What the hell? I've never abided by this rule, and neither should you. That's all I can think of for now. If you're going to bitch about any of it, at least have the "common courtesy" to add your own. That common courtesy is OK. Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: Brian Fein on April 10, 2006, 11:50:47 pm I get it, you just hate being polite.
Gotcha. Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: jtex316 on April 11, 2006, 12:27:22 am Yes, I sometimes DO hate being polite. Sometimes, I don't want to talk to people, and sometimes I don't want to wait 10 seconds holding the door at the front of the lobby for someone.
Sue me. Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: DolFan619 on April 11, 2006, 01:03:27 am Damn, at least I take the time of day to be polite to people, even when I'm having a crappy day. No need to take your problems out on people you don't know. You need to start looking at the glass "half full" more often. From what I'm gathering you must be one miserable person to be around.

Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: run_to_win on April 11, 2006, 06:52:02 am jtex - where's all this selfishness and anger coming from? Can we just attribute it to youth or is there a story here? Would your parents be proud of your self-centered attitude?
Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: Brian Fein on April 11, 2006, 09:29:52 am JTEX HATES ME! here's the difference - jtex is one of those always in a hurry, uptight, self centered a-holes that you encounter daily.I do most of this all the time.....I let people in front of me...I'm never in that much of a hurry....I hold the door for others...I let women go first....I use my napkin..have descent table manners...say please and thank you....Wish people a nice day almost everywhere i go. I'm sorry if it take too much precious time out of your busy life to hold a door open for somebody for 2 seconds. Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: jtex316 on April 11, 2006, 10:38:38 am I don't think i'm in a hurry.
Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: Brian Fein on April 11, 2006, 12:03:35 pm I don't think i'm in a hurry. You wouldn't, cause you're in too much of a hurry to realize it. If going first and not waiting for anyone else is important to you, then you're clearly in a hurry. Its OK, though, since most of the rest of society is also in a hurry to get everywhere. You fit right in. Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: pintofguinness14 on April 11, 2006, 12:16:04 pm Joe's just upset because when he cross dresses nobody holds the door open for him.
Title: Re: Common Courtesies I Hate Post by: Sunstroke on April 11, 2006, 01:03:21 pm I think we should take up a collection and help Joe pay for some much-needed therapy. Who knows...a few hundred hours on the couch and Joe might actually be able to pass for human. ::) |
