Title: TDMMC: VGB - Round 1 (Madden '95 vs. Metroid) Post by: jtex316 on April 14, 2006, 08:26:17 pm Part of the TDMMC: VGB - http://www.thedolphinsmakemecry.com/forums/index.php/topic,9228.0.html
Konami Bracket Madden ’95 (1995, Game Boy / Sega) EA Sports (http://www.videogamecritic.net/images/gen/madden_'95.gif) John Madden’s football franchise received a major boost in its series by becoming an officially licensed partner with the NFL and the NFLPA, allowing Madden ’95 to use all 28 NFL teams, and 60 other classic championship teams. This game was also one of the first to feature audible calling, and two-point conversions. This video game set the stage, and tone, for all other NFL football games to follow in the future. VS. Metroid (1986, Nintendo) Nintendo (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/07/NES_Metroid.png) Metroid was one of the most unique games of its era, as it was a platform game that went outside the box. You could not only move forward through the platform, but you could move backwards to where you started – an innovative concept in video game design. You could also move up and down, allowing for an expanded design of the world. The game also featured a very advanced soundtrack for it’s time, composed by Japanese musician Hirokazu Tanaka. It's the one that they're porting over onto little video game packs in the mall. Metroid, however, took games to a new level. It was a game that could be played and explored for months...when most Nintendo games made you start from the beginning each time. It had a password system -- revolutionary. Different endings -- revolutionary. ..and tons of hidden secrets that you didn't need to find to beat the game -- also revolutionary. It was phenomenal.

Plus, I remember there was a password that enabled you too use Samus without the body armor plus, all of the weapons. It escapes me right now, but I use to know it like the back of my hand.

The Password was Justin Bailey for the first line, then all 1's for the second. It made you a girl with Wave Beam, 500 missiles, five energy bars, and all the mini-bosses dead. All you had to do was get the Ice Beam, get the sixth energy bar, then go take out the Mother Brain. |
