Contra was WAY more fun, even if it only lasted an hour. Its better for having fun blasting stuff rambo-style without haveing to be in a long, drawn out epic. You don't have to save your game if it doesn't last for 15 years. You got so many more miles out of Zelda, with how the game gets different as you go along, with new weapons and puzzles and stuff...plus a complete 2nd quest, if you chose. Contra was the shit, no doubt, but it didn't give you as much enjoyment over the long run, I don't think.
