Title: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter? Post by: lilmalice on April 26, 2006, 02:22:34 pm http://www.fightnews.com/
Six-Heads quits for toilet run! Wednesday, April 26 2006 "I just wanted to get out and go to the toilet," said former WBA welterweight champion Andrew "Six-Heads" Lewis after suddenly quitting midway through a bout he was winning on Saturday at the National Park in Georgetown, Guyana. Lewis was ahead on all three judges’ cards when he shockingly surrendered 37 seconds into round seven against Denny Dalton. Lewis later revealed to Stabroek Sport, "I preferred to lose the fight than mess up myself in front of all those people. Everyone saw that I was beating the hell out of Dalton. I was trying to hold in this stuff but in the seventh round I couldn't no more so I decided to quit." Lewis attributed his troubles to a milkshake he drank that afternoon. The Guyana Boxing Board of Control has withheld Lewis' purse pending an investigation. He is facing a possible fine or suspension. Title: Re: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter? Post by: Denver_Bronco on April 26, 2006, 02:30:28 pm LMAO ! I always wondered about this though. Seriously, with the amount of water between rounds at least you would think these guys would have to piss their pants about half way through a scheduled 10 or 12 rounder. And as far as dropping bombs i can see that too considering half of them starve themself to make a certain weight and then splurge on food afterward.
Title: Re: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter? Post by: lilmalice on April 26, 2006, 02:46:46 pm You know the "No Mas" fight... Duran vs. Leonard II. To this day, Duran claims he quit because he had a severe case of stomach pains and possibly hints of diarrhea. To this day, some claim that there was an evident shit stain on the bottom of his trunks.
From Wikipedia: Rumors and speculation about the controversy continue over a quarter-century later. Duran, who gorged himself after the weigh-in, claimed he was suffering from stomach cramps. Between rounds five and six, Duran did tell his corner that his stomach was bothering him, and an icepack was applied to his stomach. ROTFL. Title: Re: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter? Title: Re: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter? Post by: Phishfan on April 26, 2006, 02:53:38 pm I know exactly where this guy is coming from. I caught the flu during the regional wrestling tournament. I had to run off the mat and shit after every match. I considered quitting myself in a couple of matches, but was able to hold everything back.
By the way, if you notice they drink very little water. Most of it is spit back out. Title: Re: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter? Post by: lilmalice on April 26, 2006, 03:03:19 pm Do you lose a point for crapping yourself mid-fight? Dropping a deuce in a fight would be a two point deduction... But, seriously... What would the ref or other officials do if a fighter crapped himself and wanted to continue as if nothing happened. Would it be a TKO, DQ, or No Decision. You would have thought that SOMEONE would have shit themselves during Iron Mike's reign of terror... Title: Re: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter? Honestly, if someone had diarreah in the ring, what do they do? ...stop the fight and clean it up? I guess it would have to be a no decision. Title: Re: News Flash: Is Boxing Going Down the Shitter?
