Dave’s take:
The charade needs to end here.  Tecmo Super Bowl has nostalgic value, but it’s not a great game anymore.  It’s criminal that it got past Ocarina of Time in the last round, and it’ll be even worse if it beats Halo here.  The only people who will vote against Halo are those that are biased against it, or fossils who are stuck in the past.  Tecmo bowl hasn’t been a better game than any of the matchups its faced so far, but it’s squeaked past on nostalgia, and an unfair advantage, this being a football board and all.  …not to mention that Halo kicks insurmountable amounts of ass.

Tex’s Take:
In the round of 16, against my own feelings, I voted for Zelda: Ocarina of Time, over Tecmo Super Bowl.  I think that except for Street Fighter 2, I played more Tecmo Super Bowl then any other game, ever.  Every once in a while I’ll still start up a season of TSB.  But, I thought that Zelda OoC was simply a better overall game.  However, now that it got past Zelda OoC, I’m going to be voting for Tecmo Super Bowl over Halo.  I never played Halo, but I’ve watched Dave Gray play it.  While the game looks awesome, and probably is awesome I’m sure…I personally cannot vote against Tecmo Super Bowl for Halo.  I could and did do it for Zelda OoC, but not for Halo.  Me not being a big fan of 1st person shooter type games, and shooting games in general, doesn’t allow me to really embrace Halo as millions on the planet have.  You probably feel different, but for my own personal entertainment, fun, and likes / dislikes – Tecmo Super Bowl over Halo.

This contest was over from the beginning.  Halo had / has this thing won.  If it doesn't win the whole thing,  I'll be absolutely floored in amazement.

Halo was one of the top 5 picks to start things off...but IMO, it's the #2 game on here.  The #1 game is still alive.

What's worse is, imagine if someone new comes to this site and sees that our all time most favorite game was made over 15 years ago.  We'll all be labeled as nerds/geeks... not just me!

I'm sorry.  I love Super Tecmo Bowl.  I've never played Halo.  What do you want me to do, vote for Halo because you say so, and because someone may come to this site and may think we all suck?

Its called lobbying.  I never saw a rule against it.

I just don't see how its possible that the concensus can think that TSB is a better game than Halo.  Maybe it was back in the day, but now, NFL Fever kicks TSB's ass.  And that game sucks in comparison to other football games - not even other games in general.

Just because a game has 256 MG graphics, dolby 5.1 digital surround sound, and was made sometime in the last 4 years, doesn't mean that all games before that suck, and shouldn't be voted for. 

a LOT of people on this site have played several seasons with Tecmo Super Bowl, and not with other football games.  Why?  Because TSB's game play is probably some of the most fun.  It doesn't need an 800 page play book or 15 different camera angles and in-game scores.  It's just so much fun.

whoa whoa now D_B,  you jump to conclusions now...I voted Tecmo.  I was just making a prediction.  ;D  Right now I'm floored TSB is still alive.  :o
