Title: Alex Rodriguez
Post by: EDGECRUSHER on May 22, 2006, 01:14:55 am
He is the Peyton Manning of baseball. When it's crunch time, go to someone else. Tonight was another example of his shame. I have heard so many nicknames for him the past 2 years and they are all well deserved. Here is a list:

Gay-Rod(naturally)
May-Rod(only produces in the non important months)
Doubleplay-Rod
Vaginal Shame(I made that one up)

6-4-3. This is sickening. Same thing, EVERY time.

It's very disheartening to watch. With the exception of that go-ahead bomb off of Schilling a few weeks back, I haven't seen him make an important or noteworthy hit all year. Makes me want to damn wretch. I'd rather have Melky Cabrera stepping in during a crucial at bat than this overpaid jackass.

Has he EVER made any kind of play, ever in his career?

Derek Jeter, on the other hand, is Mr. Clutch himself.  That's why that guy is beloved and Mr. Yankee himself.  The guy WILL WIN you the game if he's at bat and needs to hit, or can even help to win by defense.

A-Rod just vanishes everytime.

And yet, he was the AL MVP last year.  How you can be overpaid while winning the MVP is beyond me, but maybe you hold people to a higher standard than I do.

Because for the most part he is a compiler. He will do most of his damage against a bad team's middle relief and then in a 4-3 game against a good team will dissapear. Now, I';m not saying he NEVER does anything, just that the time he struck out or grounded into a doubleplay in a crucial point far outweighs whatever positive she has done in those situations.

I believe he is first in GW RBI in the Majors, but that's an overrated stat because if you hit a solo homerun in the first to make it 1-0 and the final score turns out to be 24-0, that's a GW RBI.

Close & Late is a better stat, but even that can have it's flaws.

Yeah, good job Jason trying to fight someone with your mask on. Hardcore!!!!  >:D

For all his 9th inning suckage, don't fight Alex Rodriguez unless you are a massive juicer because he will kill you.

That fight was the turning point for the Sox that year! Gay-Rod got snuffed in the face the Bill Muler hit the HR that won the game for the Sox off NY's best RP.

But we are talking A-Rod the homo!!

I disagree with A Rod.  Yankees don't want him?  I'll take him.  Every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Amen, bruthah! Put Alex in a Padres jersey and I'd dance the happy dance all around my apartment...

Only if you post the video on the web afterwards.  That'd be funny as hell.

It's a peppy little jig, full of fist-pumps and booty-slides...with a little Merton Hanks chicken-neck at the turns.  ;D

From the date of this post Alex has gone on a tear and has actually gotten a nice amount of clutch or important hits. So have the Yanks with their $100 Million on the DL, leaving them with a pathetic, almost Marlin-like payroll of just under $100 Million.

The Yankees lead the Majors in runs scored but are 17th in Homeruns, which is a stark contrast to the past few years. To be honest, I prefer it this way. They became too reliant on taking pitches and swinging for the fences. In the regular season that's fine but when it comes down to the playoffs, moving the runners over and base hits are usually what gets you that championship. I think the exception would be the 2004 Red Sox, but I doubt a team cares how they won it as long as they won it.

Oh, but Robinson Cnao has no right leading the All-Star ballot for 2B unless there are no 2B that can play anymore at above a AAA level.
