Title: Deeetroit basketball!!
Post by: Thundergod on May 22, 2006, 06:57:29 am
Cleveland, you embarrassed yourselves,  your fans,  your families,  and all your coaches from the past.  I hope you look back at games 6 and 7 and think about retirement,  because you had the MIGHTY Pistons' nuts in hand and a staplegun in the other but couldn't pull the trigger.  61 points?!  Kobe can score more points blindfolded in a wheelchair   PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

P.S.  F*** the Pistons

you over-the-head-playin-low-scorin-shit-talkin-offensive-reboundin-boring-team.

Your end is nigh.   >:(

NOONE including myself gave the Cavs a chance this game. 3 straight missed offensive rebounds to close out a decisive game 6 = you deserve to lose. Detroit is too good to lose to a team like the Cavs in a game 7 at home, they are too strong, both physically & mentally. Plus having everyone other than LeBron shoot 23% didn't help. Prince went at it at the second half & they had no answer. I sense some Heat fans are worried - I am not. If the Heat are ever going to make it to the dance it should be by beating the best & in the East it's Detroit, hands down. I want to see if all this phking with the roster in the offseason will payoff for Riley cuz I couldnt understand why you would do a complete makeover of a team that took the Pistons to the brink last year with an injured Wade & Shaq. I feel we will miss Eddie Jones in this series but if Walker can get out of his funk & start hitting those perimeter shots we'll be fine. No excuses this time - may the best team win.

They'll learn from this.  It took the mighty Jordan three tries against a similarly constructed Detroit team, so why should we expect any different from the LeBrons?

Varejao will continue to improve, and they'll add a real starting point guard this offseason, and when they do...

Cleveland did show that in game 6 and 7, that they were not ready to close the door and become a solid NBA playoff team.  Detroit, with experience, were down but not out, and crept back in.

The same thing is happening with the Mavs out west.  As much as I hate both the Spurs and Pistons, don't be surprised if Dallas drops this game, making it the 2nd team this year to come back from 1-3 deficits.

I get hating the Pistons.  They've won one championship and act like they're the toughest bunch out there...Rasheed and his heavyweight belt, all that idiocy.

Why the Spurs, though?  I don't get why people hate them so much.  They're classy.  They've won 3 of the last seven championships, but they don't act like they're the greatest thing since (insert comparison here).
Duncan's not out there pitching a bunch of crap like Vince Carter or even Shaquille O'Neal.

I get rooting against them, I just don't get the loathing part of it.

Yeah....I think thatt we'll probably see the Suns and Spurs win, too.  You have to win in game 6.  Don't count on taking game 7 away.

i love how the NBA screwed the pooch and had only 1 of the Game 7's yesterday. I am sure the ratings for the LA/Suns game 7 at 10:30 will be enormous... ::)

Nice job, Mr. Stern.

The ratings for the Suns-Clippers game 7 will be fine. I'll be watching, and that's all the networks actually care about. ;)

The reason I "hate" the Spurs is because they BLATANTLY threw the 1997 season so they could get the most ping pong balls, and thus the rights to draft Tim Duncan. I watched so many Spurs games that season, and I felt like I had never seen any team sink a season to get the top draft pick in so obvious a manner in my life.

Hold on a sec, 'Stroke.  David Robinson was out that year with a bad back, and then a broken foot, and as I remember, the Spurs' leading scorer that year was a 58 year old Dominique Wilkens (ok, he was 37).  That team was atrocious, man!

What's wrong with that?  They had their two top players go down in November with season ending injuries.  That makes perfect sense.

DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETROOOOOOOO OIT BASKETBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL LL!!

Where are all the lebron/ cavs lovers now? I told you piston haters they wouldnt lose. Once the pistons decided to turn on that trademark lockdown defense it was OVERRRRRRRRR!!!!!

You people should have known the cavs didnt have the close out mentality. The pistons let the series linger because of their carelessness, and lack of focus. Once they regained that we saw who the superior team was.

I agree. The Cavs lost this game because they couldn't rebound to save their lives.  It was awful.  I have a lot of respect for Detroit, and I am looking forward to the next series...GO HEAT.

The Detroit Pistons should have won this in 4 or 5.  That trademark, "lockdown" defense is watered down my friend.  They won't have time to have carelessness against the Heat, because by the time they come around, they may be out of the playoffs.

The Pistons need to seriously sharpen up their game for the East Finals.  They can't just turn it on for 25 mins. at the end of a game.  If they do, they're out.

Agreed Jtex.  If Shaq and D-Wade bring their "A" game, the Heat will be representing the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.

I don't agree.  I think that Shaq and Wade aren't going to make or break this series.  We know that they're going to have to double Wade at some point, and it's going to come down to whether or not Walker, Udonis, and Williams are going to be able to make their shots.  It's also going to come down to Miami being able to play D on all 5 Detroit starters.
