Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: Brian Fein on June 11, 2006, 04:44:47 pm Oakland A's sweep the 200 million dollar yankess!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!! awesome - f the yankees.Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: EDGECRUSHER on June 11, 2006, 05:42:55 pm Giambi - $18 Million
Matsui - $13 Million Sheffield - $13 Million Randy Johnson - $19 Million Jeter still hurting, can't even grip a ball. A-Rod still sick. Really, it's not that impressive as it seems. It's better than losing 3 games, but the Yankees are in a tailspin right now due to injuries and incompotent managing. Cashman had to DFA Scott Erickson before Torre used him again. The best thing for Scott Proctor is to get injured before Torre ruins his career. They'll bounce back once Cashmonizzle makes some more low budget and creative moves like he does every year, but right now this team ain't shit. As of right now, the only good offensive player who isn't hurt or sick is Robinson Cano. Shawn Chacon coming back was good, although I am sure he didn't miss the Yankees "defense" while on the DL. Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: Denver_Bronco on June 11, 2006, 06:16:12 pm Good for Oakland. Thats their World Series for the year. Congrats. The Yankees will be there like it or not. Meanwhile Oakland will be trying to contend in one of the worst divisions in baseball this season.
Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: EDGECRUSHER on June 11, 2006, 06:39:45 pm Zito beat the Yankees for the first time in like 4 years and he had a terrible game too. This is why I say baseball is more mental than any other sport. How can a pitcher as good as Zito absolutely suck against the Yankees everytime out? I know NY's offense is great, but today it was terrible with injuries and shit and he still got rocked.
Same thing with Boston, only worse. That's mental. Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: jtex316 on June 12, 2006, 01:07:47 am Isn't Matsui out w/ a broken hand?
Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: EDGECRUSHER on June 12, 2006, 03:29:15 am Isn't Matsui out w/ a broken hand? Yeah, he is probably done for the year. So is Sheffield. Damon has a broken bone in his foot. Posada has torn ligaments in his leg. Randy Johnson has a dislocated uterus. They'll still be fine as long as Brian Cashman takes away Torre's favorite shitty players. Replace Bernie 7 days a week with Kevin Thompson/Andy Phillips and things should be solid. Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: MaineDolFan on June 12, 2006, 08:40:39 am Damon got hurt? (rolls eyes) Who would have thunk it? I would like all of Red Sox Nation to kiss my hairy bean bag. I was the one that said "let him walk." No malice. Go get paid, Johnny! Seriously. Kudos for everything you did in Boston. But you aren't worth four years and I'm in love with a box of cereal now.

But you aren't worth four years and I'm in love with a box of cereal now. How many weeks has Coco missed again ? ::)Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: EDGECRUSHER on June 12, 2006, 12:53:20 pm Damon had a disagreement with a wall. He still plays through it though and has been our best CF since about 1997 Bernie Williams. He is the reason Jeter is having such a good year too.
With his contract it would be a bad deal for almost any other team but the Yankees. Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: MaineDolFan on June 12, 2006, 03:47:55 pm How many weeks has Coco missed again ? ::) In four years - Coco will still not have turned 30. How many players can the Yankees platoon at DH, anyway? Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: Dphins4me on June 13, 2006, 09:44:28 am Thats their World Series for the year. I doubt that. That series was just another series.Title: Re: Sweep!!!!!!!!!! Post by: EDGECRUSHER on June 13, 2006, 12:27:47 pm In four years - Coco will still not have turned 30. How many players can the Yankees platoon at DH, anyway? The Yankees injuries shockingly don't have anything to do with age. Each guy was hurt due to their own stupidity or "athleticism" or being hit by a pitch. They have so many DH's because Joe Torre is an idiot. Kevin Thompson has gone 3-8 with a HR and 3 BB and he is being benched for Bernie or Cairo and even Terence F'N Long before we DFA'd that waste of life. That's all Cashman can do now, DFA whatever players Torre constantly plays but sucks. First Long, then Erickson. If Proctor doesn't luck out and get himself injured(which he tried to recently when he punched a wall with his pitching hand), Cashman may have no chocie but to DFA him. Since May 21st his ERA has been over 10 because of his dead arm. Oh, and rumor has it Coco was good enough to play 3 weeks ago, he just couldn't get the timing of his fingers doing morse code on his bat down >:D |
