One - I deleted anything on this thread that was a flame or hijack.  Raptor wants to talk about AJ, that's his right.  Please do not make anyone feel that they are unable to speak about what they want.  Looking around - I see a heck of a lot more threads about things that aren't the Blue Jays.  Now, back on topic:

I thought AJ looked really good last night.  One of his k's - he really climbed the ladder on a heater and hit 96 on the gun.  He had his pitches really working last night.  The wild pitch was actually a passed ball, I think that it was scored incorrectly.  If they can get AJ back and get 10-12 wins out of him this season - how huge would that be?  A total power shift in the AL East!

Funny, huh?  Rocket gets taken yard in single A and then mows down AA hitters like they were farm leaguers...

For his sake, I hope the Jays aren't rushing him like the Cubs do with their starters.

Kerry Wood is pissing me off.

Why? Dusty Baker is the one who killed him. Same thing with Prior. He worked them like dogs at an early age, and sometimes with a history of arm problems and now they are damaged goods.

John Kruk suggested that the Yankees trade Robinson Cano for Mark Prior. He was laughed at for suggesting the Cubs would let Prior go for that little. I laugh at him for thinking the Yankees would trade for another brokedown NL pitcher. Not that Cnao is great, but Prior will be a FA in 2008 and like it or not, he will command big money.

He just isn't worth it and neither is Kerry Wood. AJ Burnett is a perfect example of this.

first off...Kerry Wood was being worked hard...BEFORE Dusty Baker was the manager...Kerry Has been in the majors for 8 years (well on the DL in the majors  ::) ) Dusty has been with the Cubs for 3 years...

Kerry Wood had Tommy johns surgery on his elbow in 1999...Since then hes tottally changed the way he's pitched...No more slider,a different curve ball (alot less effective).Nobody has REALLy tried to fix his herky-jerky Mechanics, till this year...they sort of attempted the past two years....(half ass atempts)

He's admitted that He's not the Guy who'd going to go out there and throw 95 MPH any more...

Prior had no injury history...2003 Mark Pitched 211.1 innings...in 2003 He had the base running injury with Marcus Giles, since then he's been injury prone....He's been hit on come backers to the mound Twice? Once I know of,they thought it was a broke arm.......prior to the 2004 season it was an Achillies tendon tweak..not an arm problem....

It's not exactly been over pitching that has killed Mark Prior....

So you're talking out your ass EDGE....

It's not just innings but how many pitche sin takes to complete those innings. Kazmir threw 5 innings last night or the one before, yet he was over 100 pitches. Most importantly, it's about how many stressful pitches you have to throw too. When you are up 12-0 in the 3rd, you aren't gonna go out there with your best slider or splitter. You are just gonna give about 80% because you have such a big lead.

Mark Prior was overworked by Baker to an insane degree. He did have some fluky injuries that obviously weren't his fault, but he still killed him anyway. When you have a pitcher that young, you don't overwork them. You coddle the. Al Leiter once threw over 170 pitches in a game early in his career and he essentially was damaged for the next 7 years.

Like I stated, Wood had an injury history. Baker knew this and whiped his ass with it. In 2003 him & Prior were great but pitched WAY too much and now it shows. How they rushed Kerry Wood back from the DL should be an indicator at how shitty the franchise has handled him. When a player says that "he felt like he got hit by a truck" after his first start back and he still pitches next time around, that is complete negligence.

Now, the Cubs will pay for it. Mark Prior's trade value is in the fucking toilet.

Rushing him back? hes been gone 2 month. i don't think that would be considered rushing him back. Letting him  take his dandy time is what you should refer this as.

They were over pitched  1 year...your still lost...Prior was on the DL in 2003,because of the Giles collision...and missed alot of time that year...It was not because he was over pitched....

Wood Had horrible Mechanics...Still has Bad mechanics....Caused majority of his problems...Wood is a lost Cause IMO,at 29-30 years old....

Prior, was supposed to have Great mechanics.....Flukey injuries, are his main downfall...Mark Prior...I'm not tottally sold that he's washed up...he's only 25

Mark Prior's trade value is in the fucking toilet.

It was never that high,Because "They say" he was never on the market.

Trust me,I'm NOT a Dusty Fan...I would love to see this as his last year in a Cubs Uniform.

I'm also not a Maddox Fan either....

You're right, 2 months is a long time. However, the fact that he is already back on the DL shows that he was rushed back. You aren't 100% healthy and ready to go if you pitch twice and are re-injured.

Prior was on the DL to start the 2005 season with right elbow inflamation.
Prior was on the DL to start the 2006 season with a right shoulder strain.

Later in 2005 is when he got hit by the line drive. The other fluke injury was the Giles run-in. The guy's arm has problems. If you want to say it has nothing to do with being overworked at an early age, that's fine. I disagree. Either way, he has arm troubles and he will probably have many more in his career.
