OK TDMMCers.  It's that time of the year again!!!!  The TDMMC Survival League is now open for business.  To enter just go to the following site:

The rules are simple.  Pick your "lock of the week" each week and hope your team wins.  No point spreads or anything.  Sounds easy doesn't it?   Well, in Survival Football, nothing is easy.  To make things a little more difficult, you can only pick each team once during the course of the season.  Chosing a team that loses, ties, or forgetting to make a pick will cost you. 

This year, I have added a new twist to the league.  Rather than have so many people drop like flies and end up with a champ in week 6 or 7 and have to play a second round, I will allow everyone ONE slipup during the season.  Guess wrong a second time and you will be ELIMINATED!!!!

I'm in and taking Baltimore week 1. 

This is a reminder to everyone.   You must have your first pick in by the start of tomorrow night's pick.  If you fail to do so, you will have one strike against you and lose your safety net for future games.  I do not want to see that happen so GET EM IN!!!!!

My pick is in.  I should be out of it by week 5.

At least because I'm allowing one slipup, you won't be out of it after the first week.   ;D

Yep.  Re-read my original post in this thread.  The past two years, we've had so many people drop off too early.  We've had a champ by week 5 or 6, then when I reset the league, no one wants to play.  So I'm allowing one slipup for everyone. 
Two wrong guesses and you're out.

Phishfan TenShot for picking Houston over the Jets (loss)

Househead and Binge for forgetting to make a pick on time.

They lost to the Cincinatti Bungles??  Sheesh!!!! 

Stroke has to turn in his free pass for picking the Packers.  Chronic will be handing his over as well because he forgot to make a pick. 

Everyone else, including the three who lost their safety nets last week guess correctly with either Minnesota over Detroit or Washington over St Louis. 

Looks like all the games are in except for Stl who still has Dallas over Carolina tomorrow night. 

Hail Mary lost his safety net for forgetting to make a pick.  And for the same reason, ChronicMan and Sunstroke are now out of the contest.

And after a stunning OT win by Buffalo, it looks like Dave, Rick and AZ have one strike against them now.  Stl has one as well.  Everyone else picked correctly. 

Of the eight people left in the contest, six have one strike:  The four mentioned above plus Tenshot and Hail Mary (whoever he is).  Pats and myself still have a safety net.

Everyone made the correct call today.  It was either NE or Indy and everyone left will live to fight another week. 

So far, with the season nearly half over, here's how it stands. 

Zero strikes- Tommy, Pats 2006.

One strike- Stl Fin Fan, Dave Gray, Rick, AZ Fin Fan, Stinkfish

Eliminated- Sunstroke, Tenshot, Bingebag, Househead, Chronicman

There will not be a second round this time around, so good luck the rest of the way everyone!!!!

And it looks like Stinkfish will have to take his journey on the Forgot to Make a Pick bus to the Land of the Eliminated.

Modified to add: I really took this game seriously and I planned my stuff in advance so that I'd have different picks available than Tommy down the stretch.  Boo.

Sometimes there can be a glitch in the system.  It wasn't letting me make a pick on Tuesday but it did on Wednesday. 

Anyways Dave, you lasted a long time.  If I recall correctly, you would always get knocked out in the first round.  Thankfully I allowed one slipup to everyone, or I'd be champ.

OK.  Looks like I lost my safety net, and Pats and Rick will have to take that stroll down Wrong Pick Lane. 

Stl, AZ, and myself are the only ones left. 

AZ and I have chosen correctly with Dallas and now have a long week to plan our next moves.  The jury is still out on Stl. 

And Stl lives to fight another week as well. 

I stand somberly on the platform of the Survivor's Station with Stl watching AZ board the Wrong Pick Train.  He punched his ticket by picking Pittsburgh over Oakland.  He finds his seat and gives us a half smile and a wave from the window as the train lurches away from the station making its journey to the Land of the Eliminated. 

And just like last season, it comes down to Stl and myself!!!!! 

I really thought this was a no brainer.....oh well I had a good run. There is always next year.

Sorry AZ, I never would have guessed that the Steelers would have lost to the Raiders.

I never would have guessed that either.... but then again, I also never would have guessed Cincy would lose to them either.  Looks like Oakland has gone from a sucky team to a below average team after replacing Jamarcus Russell at QB.

Well Tommy, we both live or die with the Titans this week.

Exactly.  Three weeks left in the season and we're still going thanks to the one slipup rule.  We might end up as co-champs.

And again, both Stl and I will (just barely) live to fight another week.

And with me picking San Fran and Stl picking Zona, it now comes down to the final week of the season!!!!!   History will be made this week in TDMMC Survival Football as one of three things will happen.

1.  First female champ in TDMMC Survival history

2.  First repeat champ in TDMMC Survival history

3.  First set of co-champs in TDMMC Survival history

And with San Fran and Pitt both winning today, both Stl and myself have survived the entire season!!!!!  Funny how allowing one slipup can go a long way with some Survival Football players.  History has been made here at TDMMC as we have our first co-champs. 

I want to thank all who participated in the league this year.  This year was the first time we've had two champs, and the first time it lasted until the end since I started posting here.  Additionally, early season injuries and unprecedented rises to the top by certain teams made the results very interesting.   All in all, it was a great year.

I did today, and thank God I did.... my original pick was the Donkos until I found out Scheffler, Marshall and Royal were all sitting out.... then I tried Jax until I found out Garrard, Holt and Lewis were being held out.... so I picked Pitt.
