Title: Shame of the Game - Jets
Post by: Brian Fein on November 01, 2009, 04:26:30 pm
I am VERY interested to see who people name for their shame this week.  IMO, if its any other than Davone Bess, you're very biased.

Then I am biased because the defense stunk the entire second half.  I can't figure just one guy to single out.  Sean Smith maybe.

davone bess   should have had another fumble too.   HM chad henne  12/21 112 yards and takes sacks.  just terrible.

Devone Bess, When you fair catch a ball, your suppose to catch it. The momentum clearly shifted after that,

It looks like he toke his eyes off the ball, Why?

You do realize they didn't get off the field the entire third quarter?

Davone Bess.

Can't go with Smith. The replay looked like he totally ripped the ball out of Edwards hands before he broke the plane.

Can't go with Davis either because he's really a rookie but he came up and laid some shots on people.

Bess had another fumble that could have been overruled but the Dolphins got to the line and ran the play. I wonder if he is spending too much time on South Beach with the women.

Ted Ginn...the guy didn't make one catch all game!  :D

Seriously though, Bess has to get it.  Dropped pass for a first down that hit him in the numbers, and should have been 2 fumbles instead of just one, that also put the Jets back in the game.  Ginn should be doing all of our kick and punt returning from now on.

HM:  The offensive line.  They played horrible all game long on run blocking and pass blocking.

Gotta go defense again, the secondary in particular.  Gave up 25 points to a rookie quarterback.   Bess was tempting, though.  Fumble, dropped pass...

Not feeling much love for the offensive line, either.

If they can't get off the field then it's their own fault.

Well, Ginn ran it to the house twice, so that is at least 2 instances where they couldn't get off the field in the third.

I'm torn between Pasqualoni and Bess, but I'm more forgiving of a player making a mistake on field than a coach calling stupid *ss plays all game (well, second half, anyway)... and NOT calling a play on one down, which gave the Jets a nice gain.

Sanchez has repeatedly shown that he makes mistakes when under pressure. What does Pasqualoni do? He decides not to send more than 4 guys on the vast majority of downs. Gibril Wilson got a couple of good sacks from blitzes where he was COMPLETELY untouched, which was sweet, but why the h*ll not try that some more? Or put in Cameron Wake. He's shown he has some skills. Or just don't yank Taylor every other play.

Letting the other team score is NOT the recommended method of "getting off the field" for the defense.

Have to agree.

But if we have to give it to a single player, then Bess.

I'm giving it to Bess as well.  This is two games now where he's had trouble holding onto the ball.  Maybe Ted Ginn should replace him on punt returns.

Honorable mention to the offensive line.  I saw Chad Henne running for his life out there today.

the O-line.  got manhandled at the line of scrimmage, couldn't open up ONE HOLE to run thru (and jenkins was out), the wildcat kept imploding, there was no burst, etc.  they were beaten like a mule all game long and is why our offense never got going.

SOTG has to go to the

OFFENSIVE  LINE - The JEST  manhandle their asses.  Could not do shit on offense .

If it was not for Special teams and defense , Miami would have lost.   A win is a win but it was terrible.

OK I didn't see the game but I have to make at least an observation about this situation. Last week Henne picked up the blitz and threw to his where his wide receiver should have been on at least two occasions. On both occasions the WR didn't pick it up and kept running. I have to wonder if this lack of confidence in his receiving corps is what kept him holding onto the ball.

^^^ yeah, i think that type of confidence takes some time to develop with your receivers.

i would blame more the offensive coordinator than anyone else. they should've put together a set of plays that take advantage of the jets overpursuing and stacking of the lines. more screens, misdirection, etc...
