Title: Championship Weekend
Post by: ArtieChokePhin on January 14, 2015, 10:56:57 pm
I'm going with the Homers in this case.

Seattle
New England

Rodgers had an average game against an average defense because he's not at 100%.  A great defense like the Seahawks can shut him down.

As for the AFC, I hope I'm wrong but gut instinct tells me that Luck isn't lucky enough to beat two legends in back to back weeks in the playoffs

Seattle over Green Bay by 10-13 pts
Green Bay is an excellent club, but that Seattle defense is playing at an entirely different level right now.

Indianapolis over New England by 1-3 pts
Shootout time...I'm predicting over 60 points will be scored in this one, and the winning score will happen in the final 3 minutes of the game.

Two of the top young QBs in the game, both with completely different styles, will meet in the Super Bowl.

I want nothing more than for you to be correct.  Unfortunately, life never consults me on this issue.  Therefore, I can only assume New England and Green Bay will meet up for the title because nothing I want to actually happen in the playoffs can actually occur.

Mark Sanchez did it.

I feel like the Colts beating Denver punched New England's ticket to the Super Bowl.

Denver had a chance, the Colts have NO chance.

I think Seattle vs Green Bay will be a GREAT game.

That makes me scratch my head a little bit, as Luck is very much like a younger "coming into his own" version of Peyton Manning, rather than the older "on his way out" Peyton currently playing for the Broncos.  I think Indy will beat New England, but I think if Denver had somehow knocked off the Colts, New England would have kicked their ass this week.

Would love to see the Colts and Packers go to the Super Bowl, and it would be one of the rare times I wouldn't care who'd win. As long as Seattle gets knocked out I'm good,  Marhawn Lynch is a dick.

You clearly find more talent on the Colts' roster than I do.  I feel like Denver's run game and defense is head and shoulders better than Indy's, and I am not ready to say Luck > Peyton, yet.  But, I guess last week has already proven me wrong...  Was Indy the proverbial "blind squirrel" last week, or are they the real deal?

I think that, at this stage of their careers, if I need to win a game and have to choose either Luck or Manning to be my QB, I'm going with Luck.

http://deadspin.com/fox-business-delivers-stupidest-super-bowl-report-possi-1680014866

According to FOX NEWS...Super Bowl attendance hinges out the outcome of this weekends game. Ya know, not the fact its sold out and the stadium can only hold so many people. If certain teams win then the game draws more people at the stadium?! lol lol

How does a report like this get on the air

Seattle will expose the Packers weak D.  Win easily 42-20.

Pats too much for Colts will win going away 37-24.

Seahawks over Pats in Super Bowl!

Faux news reporting something that has no basis in reality,  no longer quality as news.  The national inquirer is more reliable than Fox news

Seattle's defense is gassed.  They've been on the field almost the entire first quarter.

That deep pass play call was a head scratcher, especially when your defense is exhausted.

I agree.  They need to keep the defense off the field.

Yeah, he looks like it's his first game and he's Geno.

Seattle needs to get in the end zone here.  Otherwise it's over.

Amen to that... I almost wish there wasn't another game tonight, as it cannot possibly match up to the way that one ended.

Watching McCarthy manage the end of that game I now know where Philbin gets it from with his game management.

Biggest choke job in NFL history. Worse than the "Elway Drive vs Cleveland"......GB totally stopped playing with 5 min left and let Seattle win.

You're right.   This is shaping up to be the blowout I expected it to be.  Although Indy had some opportunities, they shot themselves in the foot

Started in the 2nd half....ultra conservative when you have the champs down?

Banged up secondary, etc, should have been targeting Cobb, Nelson and Adams all day long?

Also, on that last INT?, could have sworn I heard Philbin yelling from the crowd " Go down, there are only 5 minutes left, we have the game!"

Anyways, good teams find a way to win even when having a bad day and Seattle showed us that today!

Luck should shave that Amish beard of his at halftime, might change the Colts fortunes......NOT!

What starting quarterback has been to six superbowls?

Terry Bradshaw?  I thought he had just four

I thought Montana had just four as well

Brady will be the first with six appearances.
Elway has been to five.

No matter what, as much as I dislike them, I wish someday that our Fins can become innovative in their schemes and even under inflate some footballs, if it means being and winning in the postseason year in year out.

How the HELL can our lame duck coach Philbin compete with a Belichek?  No matter what they are a great franchise with a great coach, something I hope the Fins can someday become.
