Title: Warren Sapp arrested
Post by: ArtieChokePhin on February 02, 2015, 05:15:04 pm
Soliciting sex from a prostitute who happened to be undercover.

I guess the mouth that roared had something else roaring as well

Update.  The NFL Network has terminated Sapp's contract

That's what happened to Eugene Robinson before the Super Bowl, too.

This is why you stick to escort services, rather than going for the walmart-variety streetwalker.

Couldn't you get busted that way, too?  Couldn't a cop post an ad as an escort service?

The reason Sapp got busted for soliciting prostitution (and assault) is because he got into a money argument with the hookers and allegedly assasulted them.

Know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em, Warren.  When you're a celebrity in that situation, even if they did try to jack up the prices on you, you basically have to pay them off.

Hope he enjoys his time in tent city

Wouldn't he have been arrested anyway?  Once you agree to the deal, you have already broken the law, if you haven't already done it earlier.

Sounds like he just made his situation worse.

I'm surprised he needed to do something like this.  Most celebrities don't.

we shouldn't be arresting for or prosecuting morality crimes

this is a non-issue in my book

I'm guessing he wasn't getting them for himself.  He was probably recruiting talent for a party he's having or something.  Gotta supply chips, beers, and hookers.

Assault is not a morality crime.

You don't understand.

If he had paid them off, the police never would have been called.  This was not a sting.

Assault is not a morality crime.

It seems like the "assault" stemmed from him throwing them out of his room, probably because they wouldn't leave.  The moral of the story, as Stroke alluded to, is hire a better class of service provider; not one that will go downstairs to the off duty cop and complain that you didn't get paid for hooking.  BTW, the girls were also charged with crimes, a couple brilliant beauties, can't wait for the mug shots to cum out.

In Vegas, he would have still been charged with assault.

According to the women (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/details-of-warren-sapp-s-arrest-on-assault-and-solicitation-of-prostitution-charges-004058660.html), they were indeed "escorts" who met Sapp in the hotel.

However, they were cited (http://www.tmz.com/2015/02/02/warren-sapp-arrested-arizona-super-bowl-soliciting-a-prostitute/) for a violation of the city's escort permit requirements, so they apparently weren't professional "escorts."

Need has nothing to do with it. They want to.

I'm saying most celebrities have groupies so they don't have to do it.

Oh I see.  The top post made it sound like it was a sting

I'm saying most celebrities have groupies so they don't have to do it.

And celebrities also deal with stalkers, women trying to entrap them by getting pregnant, women accusing them of rape for the headlines and money, etc. (disclaimer: I'm not saying this of all women, just a concern the celebrity has in their mind). It is so much easier for them to hire a professional girl so none of that has to be dealt with. It is very common for men of power to use escort services. Every city has them and the client list is usually a who's who from politicians, athletes, judges, actors, etc. Sapp's issue here is not the norm for how these types of "relationships" go down.

Now I'm really confused.

How do they not get caught all the time?  I mean, wouldn't the cops know about all this?

Sorry, I did not mean to leave them off the list. Sometimes you will find cops on the client lists as well. There are busts sometimes. We had one busted not long ago and a city's Vice Mayor was caught in the scandal.

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-10-03/news/os-maitland-phil-bonus-prostitution-20121002_1_linda-frosch-client-list-prostitution

It is a world of political chess in stuff like this. Who knows, who is guilty, who wants to shake things up and make a big bust, who wants to fly under the radar and avoid the scandal...

Why are we still arresting adults for having sex however they choose with other adults?

Because now it's under the guise of human trafficking, just like weed is a gateway drug and guns are bad.

We all know all prostitutes are not forced into the profession, especially the high end escorts. But let's not downplay the idea that human trafficking plays a very major part in the street walking culture. While many of these girls may not be shipped around the globe like we picture in our heads, many are strong armed into performing these services. I don't think it is fair to lump it all into one generic category and that seems to be what legislators and the public love to do. Take a negative and project it onto the community as a whole in order to sway opinion.

He should've thought about that before he did what he did.  Just like he should've stopped and thought before he bought all those shoes then had to file bankruptcy.  The guy is an egomaniac who can't stop running his mouth about something.  He's a disgrace to the Bucs organization.

I saw the video of his confession. He needed to just be quiet. Is anyone gonna take the word of a prostitute? Maybe, but at least roll that dice instead of just coughing it up to the police.
