Title: Who is going to MetLife Takeover 2015?
Post by: Brian Fein on August 11, 2015, 02:07:55 pm
This year the Dolphins lose a home game vs the Jets, so its up to us to turn the game in NY into a Dolphins' home game.

So, I'm going.  DolfansNYC is already accepting signups, and already have 740 people RSVP'ed for the event.  I am guessing it will break 1500 fans this season.

Its always a good time and they always do it up right.  This event comes highly recommended.

So, who's going?

My tentative plan is to go to NYJ @ MIA next year after the "roof" is installed, unless there's a good home night game you guys recommend this year.

edit: The only home night game this year is vs. NYG, so screw that.

Yeah, the Giants tickets are beyond crazy.  Tony is coming down, and honestly, I don't know if I'm going to be able to go.  It's nuts how the market has exploded on those tickets.

Meh, that's next year.  Sounds like you have no plans this year, if you're gonna travel for a game, make it this one.

I can go to a Dolphins road game less than 50 miles away; been there, done that.  I want to go to a Dolphins home game for once, and if I do, I would prefer not to be miserable... so it's either a night game this year, or wait until the roof is installed.

Any home game in December should be mild enough.  Of course a game in January would be even better... ;)

Met-Life Takeover is another thing Brian and I agree on:  It's great.

You know I'm in!!  I have that weekend off, my cousin's getting married on Saturday.  Hopefully I won't be too hungover to make the game...

Yeah we'll see what the prices are closer to the game, probably only going up.  I have booked my airfare already, so if the tickets are too expensive (and I don't wanna watch the game by myself), maybe we can just go to a bar or something.

yuuuup! I'd definitely be down for this.  Like Dave, I am on the fence about the game for the same reasons.

Don't get me wrong, I want to go to the game and if we can work it out, we should, but I've just never seen anything like this.  Maybe the Giants will shit the bed to start the year and it will be a little more affordable.

Yes, that's true, but this time, you'd get to be the a-hole Floridian!

When I go to NY, I try to out a-hole the a-holes.  It works.

Bingo - that's exactly it.  It works if the Dolphins are winning, but otherwise, not so much. Its funny watching a bunch of dejected Jets fans get taunted by a huge group.

Its also fun to see the entire stadium empty except for 2-3 sections in the upper deck.

I wouldn't know.  We've kicked their asses each year so far.

fair point.  To be fair, I used my imagination for the "not so much" part...

Yesterday, a different fan group hosted a different event called DC Shutdown.  It looked like they had about 400 fans in the group, and the chatter today is all about how it was "like a home game" for Miami.

MetLife Takeover will have 3 times as many Miami fans, at least.
