Title: Hurricanes Football
Post by: Dolphster on November 06, 2017, 10:50:46 am
Where is the love for the Canes in here?   ;D  Having grown up in Miami during the glory days of Hurricane Football, it is nice to see them relevant again. I think they may fall back to earth after they play the hated Fighting Irish this weekend.  But Richt has the program moving in the right direction.  Great win against Virginia Tech over the weekend.

I am not a Canes fan, despite growing up here.  Only one person I know went to school there.  It's just not in the hearts and minds of me and my friends.

I did see a drunk chick get KOd by security for punching him while being escorted out of the stadium.  That was pretty dope.

I can understand that.  I got my undergrad degree from FIU and my masters degree from FAU.  But I grew up a Canes fan, so I've just always stuck with them.

I got a kick out of that too.  Play stupid games (like punching a cop) and win stupid prizes (getting punched back by a cop).

Heck with the Miami Hurricanes... How about those FAU Owls??  After losing 3 of their first 4 games, they've strung together 5 straight W's and are on top of the C-USA East division with 3 games to go. RB Devin Singletary, 5'9" 200 lbs of awesomeness, has been a beast over the 5-game streak, with 897 yards rushing and 15 TDs.

FAU has been killing it lately.  Undefeated in the conference, too.  They have some tough games coming up.

And the grand prize, 3 years in the slammer

Don't they have the guy who got kicked out of FSU for punching a chick in a club starting at QB for them?

De'Andre Johnson... Yeah, he's on the roster, but after playing a little Wildcat role in the season opener, he was diagnosed with blood clots in his arm and hasn't played since. No idea if he has any chance of coming back this season or not. Their starting QB, Driskel, is the prototypical "Game Manager." That's ok, as long as they keep handing the rock to Singletary.

Real test is this week against Notre Dame. If they beat them, very hard to justify them not being in the Top 4.

The only thing I think about Hurricane football is how shitty the field looks every Sunday after the Hurricanes have been there the night before. The Marlins finally leave and then the field is still shit because of stadium sharing.
