Title: Tom Seaver
Post by: Dolphster on September 04, 2020, 08:31:32 am
I was never a Mets fan.  But I was a Mets fan for one day yesterday in the hopes they would get a win for Tom Seaver.  As one of the old "Boomers" on here, not sure if too many of you can relate to this, but Tom Seaver was one of the greats.  I was fortunate enough to see him pitch in person later in his career with the Reds.  I was probably around 12 at the time and he signed an autograph for me before a game and actually stood there and talked to me and my dad for about 5 minutes.  He wanted to talk about what position I was playing in Little League and asked all kinds of questions.  Made me feel like the most important kid in the world for those 5 minutes.  May he rest in peace.

He sure was a legend.  And his legacy will remain in Cooperstown.  My prayers go out to his family

I grew up a Big Red Machine fan so I remember him from his time with the Reds. Great pitcher. RIP Mr Seaver.
