It solves my main problems with the older logos:
1) the helmet
2) the scratchy, faded inking

I think I still like the current logo more, but this wouldn't be a terrible compromise.

I liked the helmet.  That logo looks stupid wo the helmet.

...didn't you say you also like Pat Patriot over the Flying Elvis?

The helmet is pretty dumb.

But if you're not using the old logo, just don't use it.  This is kinda not throwback, but also -- if you're going to redesign, just make a better design.

Unless it's just nostalgia from a better time, I don't see how anyone could like Patriot Pat or whatever that's called, over the flying Elvis.

That is one of the best examples of updated branding I've ever seen.  Their old look was terrible and it became good overnight.  The Bucs also had a great improvement.

I like logos that read what they are simply and crisp.  The old pats logo had too much going on.

Obviously that is not the case.  The flying elvis has probably one of the best WL percentage in all sports and Pat among the worst.

I meant, a better time in your life personally.  Maybe that's the logo you associate watching games with your Dad or something.

I have fond memories of the crusty 80s Dolphins logo because I was a kid and it was fun to be a kid.  Logo is worse, though.

The flying Elvis and the pirate flag are both enormous improvements over Pat Patriot and Bucco Bruce.

Among other rebrandings in the last decade or so, I also really like the Warriors and the Timberwolves:

I like a lot of the older logos. Obviously the older dolphins looks as Ive been on here before expressing my hatred of the current logo. Maybe because that’s what I grew up with, but I also just think they’re better looking. I like the oilers logo, love the Bucs old look. I prefer what the Seahawks used to look like. As much as it kills me to admit this, my favorite all time logo is Pat the Patriot. Why anybody thinks that flying Elvis looks better than a Continental Soldier about to snap the ball just makes me go what? ???

I don't care what anyone says, I like the creamsicle Bucs.

For what it's worth, I think the Houston Texans is the best logo in sports.  It's so crisp, clean simple and a combination of ideas -- everything about it is good.  I'm not sure I love the name Texans, but the image is on-point.

I don't hate it but it isn't my favorite. Much better than the current one for sure. My favorite is still with the helmet.

I think it's kind of funny that until the Bucs rebranded to the much better look all around ... that people started wanting the creamsicle unis as throwbacks. I had the old jerseys and I don't remember any of us liking the color. Of course, winning 2 Super Bowls with the new jeresys doesn't hurt either.

The same guy on Redditt posted the current logo with the helmet. It actually helps this logo a little ... hahaha

If the league is serious about preventing concussions to its logos, they should all wear helmets.

Spider, how do you feel about our version of the logo where the Dolphin is holding a ball like a RB?  Is that too helmet-like for you also?

Also, someone on the internet made a mockup with the new logo wearing a helmet back in 2013.  I couldn't find the original post here, but I saved the picture at the time:

I’d rather keep the current one then use the 90s one without a helmet.

If it was up to me I’d just go back to 80s era uniforms and logos.

Just spitballing here, but what if the logo on the helmet wasn't a picture of the animal -- but something letter-related or like the Bengals...a pattern.

^^^^ I wouldn't like that. Seems to me the Dolphin logo goes hand in hand with the team just as the Steelers Steelmark logo or the ram horns on the Rams' helmet. To remove it would just be wrong to me.
