Title: R.I.P. Tony Siragusa
Post by: ArtieChokePhin on June 22, 2022, 05:05:47 pm
The Goose who signed as a UDFA with the Colts, and later worked his way to stardom with the Baltimore Ravens has passed away at age 55.

This is a guy I admire because he comes from a working class family in a working class town and worked his way to the top.

One story I really liked about him is when he signed his UDFA contract, the Colts gave him a $1000 signing bonus. After taxes, it came to about $650.   He cashed the check, grabbed three of his closest friends, went to his hometown neighborhood bar, threw the cash on the counter and the group proceeded to drink away every last dollar.

That's true blue collar celebrating right there.

This has been a shocking time for the NFL.

The Goose and Jaylon Ferguson in the last 24 hours.

Jeff Gladney, Marion Barber, Dwayne Haskins, plus Demaryius Thomas at the end of last year - all taken from this earth way too soon.  :(

Sad to hear of his passing. his father diesd at 47 with a heart attack. He went to Pitt aand was good friends with Marino. I used to follow him on FB and always loved his interviews with Joe Rose.  The guy worked hard and played even harder. RIP big guy.

Turns out Ferguson had cocaine and fentanyl in his system.
