Title: Sunday Action Week 10
Post by: dolphins4life on November 13, 2022, 12:18:20 pm
Four of our playoff contenders, (BAL, NE, NYJ, and CIN) have the week off.

We definitely want Arizona to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers.

We want the Vikings to defeat the Bills.

Brady is 2-0 since his divorce

D4L, I expect that you will now say that that the Bills season is cancelled because of that incomplete pass that wasn't reviewed, right?
Or is it only the Dolphins who are frauds when they benefit from bad officiating?

The last minute of regulation plus OT in the Buffalo-Minnesota was absolutely insane. Sweet mercy...

While the win would benefit Miami I hope LAC covers so I can make even more money than I did this morning

Where do you bet?  Is it legal?  I want to do what Dave suggested and put money on Tampa Bay winning the Super Bowl.

I use betmgm. Whether it’s legal or not depends on where you live. It is here. If it’s illegal where you are I’ll place your bet for you if you Venmo me the funds I just ask for 10% if it hits ;)

Just watched the highlights.  I did not see it.  Please provide context

I did not see any bad calls against the Vikings.  I saw one questionable call against the Bills.  It was a possible DPI no-call the play before the interception.

The ball hit the ground, but was ruled a catch.

This was during the last 2 minutes of the half and should have been automatically reviewed (and overturned), but BUF was allowed to immediately run another play.

Why are we encouraging this scrutinization of referee calls?

Bad calls happen to every team.

However, D4L (a "Dolphins fan") seems to think the Dolphins' entire season is invalidated if they receive a few favorable calls in one game.
BUT ONLY THE DOLPHINS

I want to do what Dave suggested and put money on Tampa Bay winning the Super Bowl.
Guys, where is the best place to buy the Buccaneers jersey of Tom Brady (whom I DO NOT support)?

I would like to buy one - not because I am a Brady fan, which I DEFINITELY am NOT - but because I think that wearing that jersey every Sunday and loudly cheering for him will cause him to lose, which is a thing that I want to happen (as I am NOT a fan of Tom Brady).  After all, all the other teams I have rooted for have lost, so this strategy is historically flawless.

Also, are there any long term side effects from getting a tattoo?  Just checking.

Spider, have you ever heard of the term win-win situation?

If I make this bet, either Brady doesn't win the Super Bowl or I make a lot of money.

Either way, I win.

I need a rule clarification.

I just saw the play.

Hit the pause button at five seconds.

I thought the survive the ground rule was eliminated.  Therefore when the Bills player's knee hits the ground and he has control of the ball, it shouldn't matter if it comes loose when his arms hit the ground.

Am I misinterpreting the rule?

The rule hasn't changed. From the 2022 Rule Book defining a catch:

"It is a catch, or an interception, if, in the process of attempting to possess the ball, a player secures control of the ball
prior to it touching the ground, and that control is maintained during and after the ball has touched the ground"

And repeated (several times) in the case study of approved replay rulings. E.g.:

"Receiver is going to the ground and must maintain control of the ball until after his initial contact with the ground."

I’ve seen enough movies to know that this arrangement won’t end well for somebody. Don’t even talk to this guy D4L.

Just to cement this thing, the NFL has officially admitted it blew the process and blew the call. Should have been challenged by the booth, would have been overturned. Not a catch.

Good thing the Vikings won that game, because there were a lot of critical mistakes from the refs benefitting the Bills.

How about 12 men on the field in overtime?

Not called. Does admittedly make it easier to play D ;)

I use sportsbook.ag.  -- https://www.sportsbook.ag/sbk/sportsbook4/nfl-betting/nfl-season-futures-super-bowl.sbk

This is the current "futures" available for NFL teams to win the Super Bowl.  You could bet from lots of different sites with slightly different odds, depending on what state you're in.

Currently, the best odds for the Bucs are 18 to 1.  ....$100 wins you $1800.  (It was $2200 before the latest win.)
