Title: Would Barry Sanders be elite today?
Post by: Dave Gray on April 24, 2023, 11:35:27 am
I think that Barry Sanders was the most impressed I've been seeing a football player live.  The way he stopped and started was incredible.

But the NFL has changed so much that the concept of a feature back, especially one that isn't essentially a WR option, just doesn't exist in the same way.

Do you think he'd still be elite and a major factor in games against these high powered offenses that are chunking the ball downfield?

Barry Sanders was a generational talent. He, and even Ricky in his prime, ran better than any other RBs in my adult lifetime and the rest aren't even close. Had either guy had a little help their stats would have been unreal.

Yes, he'd still be elite.
