The Top 5 Reasons You Can't Blame... is a series that examines the athletes, coaches, front office personnel and even fans who over the years have been blamed for either a team's failure, their individual failure, a bad trade, a bad draft pick, or the demise of a franchise.

The shows begin by explaining why that individual or team has been blamed over the years and then it peels away the layers between fact and fiction and count down the Top 5 Reasons You Can't Blame them.

This fast-paced series is a mix of documentary storytelling and the entertaining elements that make countdown shows fun to watch

This is what it says on there site  It's on ESPN classic

How can you NOT blame Ricky Williams?  HE LEFT THE NFL AND BROKE HIS CONTRACT TO GO SMOKE POT.  In fact it doesn't matter what he did afterwards - the BOTTOM LINE is that he broke his NFL contract.  NO EXCUSE for that.

if you watch the show, you'll find out

My guessing of the 5 reasons is
1) Coaching
2) Offensive line
3) the team was going nowhere
4) Lenny (whatever his last name is)
5) no clue

Joe, let me reiterate this again.  Ricky did NOT leave to go smoke pot.  Hell, he needed pot to ease the pain from the constant poundings his body was taking week in and week out!!!  Ricky left because he did not want to play for Dave Wannstedt.  He had 775 carries the past two seasons and was tired of it.  He looked around, saw his team was no closer to the Super Bowl than it was when he came in 2002, saw his O-Line sucked, and saw that Wanny was gonna give him another 400 carries.  That's when he decided, "The hell with it!!  I'm not playing for this loser coach anymore!!!"  I wish he would've come out and said that instead of handling it the way he did.

In the long term, I think Ricky's leaving actually helped the team.  It solidified the choice to draft Ronnie Brown, ushered in an entire new coaching staff (including Houck, Linehan, and Saban), AND you got to keep Ricky Williams at a slave's wage, because we've got him by the balls financially.

I think Bob Ley actually did mention it on ESPN's "WAY Outside the Lines."

I caught that show on ESPN42.  The footage of a broken, downtrodden Sunstroke was quite compelling.  The scene in which you looked at the camera, tears spilling from your eyes, and asked, "Why, Ricky?" had a kind of "jilted ex-girlfriend" quality to it but was touching nonetheless. ;D

Olivadotti (see also: defense)

My nominations:
No Defense (When Jeff Cross is your best D-lineman...)
Horrible drafting (They could have had Thurman Thomas)
No running back (Couldn't even name them all)
90's Buffalo Bills (AFC powerhouse)
Tom Olivadotti (1992 v. Bills..It's called a SCREEN PASS!!)

How about this:

No running back-  Tony Nathan, Ron Davenport, Lorenzo Hampton, Troy Stradford, Sammie Smith, Mark Higgs, Marc Logan, Bernie Parmalee, Terry Kirby, Irving Spikes, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, John Avery, Cecil Collins.

Tom "Olive Head" Olivadotti (1995 vs Bills.... 341 rushing yards allowed??  ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???)

Those guys were all the starting running back at one point since Marino was in a Dolphins uniform.  Needless to say, the only one who actually had some promise was Mark Higgs.

Amen.  Plus, pot is cool.  Way cooler than trying to run over d-line for hours on end.  Don't know bout the yoga thing, but, different strokes I guess, I just listen to pink floyd and play mario kart.  Yeah I'm a winner!
