Title: What is this about Culpepper not starting Week 1? Post by: ADeadSmitty on March 27, 2006, 10:02:21 am Implicit in a bunch of posts (like in the recent thread about the opening game at the Steelers) is the idea that Culpepper might not be ready to start Week 1. WTF!? Isn't this one of the main benefits of getting a veteran?
Culpepper is a veteran QB who has played in a system similar to Miami's his entire career (Linehan's fingerprints are still on Miami's system.) We acquired him SIX MONTHS before the start of the season. Yet we're still being told he might not start Week 1? Give me a break. If I want someone to sit on the bench and "learn the system" for half the year, I'll draft a QB who's younger, hungrier, and cheaper. Title: Re: What is this about Culpepper not starting Week 1? It all has to do with his knee injury, and whether or not he will be ready to go.
