And what in the world is his hand doing near the saw his brother is swinging?

Can someone please explain this to me?  I'm confused as heck.  Why is his brother swinging  a saw?

I don't think there was any swinging involved.  It was just a way of making it sound more interesting.  The report said that his brother was trying to cut a piece of wood when all the sudden the saw caught a stump and caused the saw to jump to the side and cut Josh while he was holding things still.

I have to admit this is one of the most retarded incidents I have heard of.  I sure as hell wouldn't be in that situation if I were an NFL QB.  Too many shop class horror stories about losing limbs and appendages to take a chance with so much to lose.  With that said, I can't say I am surprised that it was Josh McCown.  He never struck me as much of an intellect.  I was hoping that he was smarter than he sounds, my hope has now dwindled away.

I was thinking the same thing. I think Omar Kelly meant "swinging an axe", but like he said, he doesn't know anything about chopping wood.

Haven't there already been a few incidents with players and axes? I remember one involved a Jax player, and I think the ax was in the locker room as a team building exercise. And then there was another player who also hurt himself with an ax while chopping wood.

Edited to add:
I did some research. Chris Hanson was the Jax player, and the ax was in the locker room as a motivational tool.

Still looking into the other incident.

Second Edit: I think I may be think of Mets Pitcher Bob Ojeda slicing tendons in his arm while gardening.

I must admit, while researching this, I read about a lot of odd injuries some athletes have had!
