I read this and said to myself at first........WTF? But it really does kinda make sense.

Just a couple of other things. I see Ricky Williams getting traded for a couple of picks (maybe a 3rd and a 5th rounder) after the first few games of the regular season.  Ricky will get a lot of carries in the first few games (after his preseason showcase), will continue to show that he's on the straight and narrow, and some contending team out there will need a quality back to make a run this year.  Tuna will pull the trigger on a deal like this, having Ricky is an unnecessary luxury for this team right now and we could definitely use the picks.

He got rid of Booker for the same reasons as well. Great player that was really just a luxury on a team rebuilding. We have to get those lines built up if we are going to compete.

No way, I just don't see that. Sure, EVERY player is for sale if the price is right, but I just don't see Parcells settling for a 3rd. He seems to really like Ricky, who has worked his ass off and been an example to the rest of the team. Ricky is also valuable in that a potent running game is the only thing that will allow our offense to mature.

Bottom line: Ricky is probably worth more to us than we could get elsewhere.

RW is gone after this season, so I can see him being moved for a conditional pick, maybe even having to wait till 2010 to get it.  Depending on whether or not the other team resigns him or something.

I can see a team like Denver finally trading for him.  S. Young is not gonna hold up & Torin is out for 3 months.  Seattle is another place that might have an interest.  If Jones & Comp cannot get it done, then Seattle will be in the market for a quality RB.

I cant see Ricky getting moved either.  With the jury still out on Ronnie, and with the possibility of QB issues, I see Ricky carying the load for us this year.

I'd do it in a heartbeat....

Wrong, He got rid of him because of his size,Parcells and comapny said from day one they want big people,All over the team...( Zach,Beck (not yet),Booker errr Lorenzo, I'm glad to see Marty gone too though)

I better clarify....before everyone has a hissyfit...
Yeah yeah,Zach had injury problems, but Parcells and company would want the size, and I'm pretty damn sure if Zach were 6'3 250#'s Zach wouldn't have gone any where...

Bill Parcells seems to have really taking a liking to Ricky.  Could he still wind up getting traded?  Possibly.  However, I don't think it'll happen.  It's probably better if we keep him.

If it did happen I can really see Denver as the #1 trading partner as well. That is Ricky's new home town , The mecca of alternative Medicine and meditation could make it a great fit for both Teams. Lets not forget Patrick Cobbs is playing damn well as well............... Wink

Agreed.  Lorenzo Booker had some special talent, but he didn't have the size to be an every down back.  Additionally, the type of plays a guy like him can be used for are not normally used in Parcells' type of offense.

Ricky on the other hand has the size, speed, and strength to be the featured back on this team.  I don't see Parcells moving him at all..... especially with Ronnie coming off a serious knee injury and looking nothing like he did last season.

It ain't about the Money or the Cap........If The Tuna can get good value for him in the draft he will. Ricky won't be in Football for more than 2-3 years. I'm pretty sure the Tuna can find us a quality player that will be here longer.
