I thought the Sox played a decent game. I was happy to see Joe Maddon wake up and start putting lefties against lefties and vice versa.

What can I say? I'm happy about this, as I thought the Rays deserved it more. That, and the fact that I used to watch BJ Upton drop routine pop flies when he was a Charleston Riverdog, and seeing his maturation is a real treat.

Anyone else think Bud Selig was praying for the Red Sox to mount a comeback? After that blown call on the check swing, I began to wonder if he'd sent out a few text-messages to the umpires mid-inning.

Honestly, the Sox were really hurt by injuries, a disgustingly bad bottom of the order and Terry Francona's insistence on sticking with it.

Mark Kotsay had 40 at bats in the postseason. He did not have one RBI. Stranded 20 baserunners. Jason Varitek was almost as bad. With a bunch of tight games, you gotta believe had they had even league average players they would be going to the world series right now.

I am glad they are gone, but I can't pretend like this was a massacre or that they were outmatched.

I hate the Devil Rays

I hate the stinkin BoSox.  Glad they're going home.  For all I care, they can head down to Mexico, kill their livers with cheap tequilla and sleep with underage midget whores.  I'm sure Stroke would like the last part.

And now available on mlb.com...t-shirts printed of something that hasn't happened yet...

Looks like it's happened, and the "curse" has been fulfilled.
