Man, they should've held onto Penny, that guy was awesome tonight for the Giants. Thanks National League!
I get a little tired of the "National League" thing. Last time I checked, those guys are major league players as well. And, last time I checked, the Phillies have a line up that compare with about anyone - AL or NL.
I will also make this stance: Yes, the pitchers create an offensive disadvantage at times. That said...MOST AL teams do not have rock stars in their batting order 1-9. Every team has offensive challenges.
I don't care who Penny faces last night. The Phillies, Yankees, Red Sox or the AL All-Star team. His fastball was dancing. His breaking pitches broke. He induced a beautiful inning ending DP that was a work of art. His delivery was slightly different than that with Boston. Penny pitches like he did last night and he beats anyone regardless of the league.
