As much as I rooted for his failure, as a Yankee hater, it's weird to have him gone from baseball.  I wonder what this means for the Yanks.

I really hate the Yankees, but respected the hell out of him.  He has done so much for the Tampa Bay community it's ridiculous.

Not a lot.  He hasn't been part of operations for quite a while.  His sons have been entrenched deeply for a long time now.  I think some employees might have been saved (believe it or not) because he was still alive.  But, operationally, you won't see much change.  The one difference that happened when he stepped away and his sons came on board -- they allowed Cashman more free space.  This is why you have seen a resurgence in the Yankee farm system.

It is strange. As a non Yankees fan, he was fun to dislike but he always had respect of everyone.  I think the fact he has done so much in the Tampa area despite being known as Mr. New York creates mixed emotions ... at least for many Floridians.

I'm a proclaimed Yankee hater, but like most, I had respect for the man. Who doesn't want their owner to want nothing more than to win and do everything in his power within the rules of the game to make that happen. RIP George

For all of the crazy stuff he pulled, the Yankees and the city of New York were better off for having him been there. His charity work was also legendary.

He will be very missed by Yankee fans and baseball in general.
