Bobby Carpenter has no business on a football field. I live near Dallas and the Cowboy fans were absolutely thrilled when they got rid of him. The radio hosts would literally spend 10 minutes every Monday ripping him and his play.
Jerry Jones summed it up best by saying that Bobby Carpenter was a "finesse linebacker." He tried to mean that as a compliment, too. Can anyone ever think of a finesse linebacker in the history of the NFL? Isn't that exactly what a team doesn't want?
I'm from Dallas and I would have completely agreed with you up until last year. Carpenter actually started to make a few plays and was a serviceable player for Dallas last year. He actually started 2 games and had more tackles then the previous 3 years combined. Yes he's a finesse linebacker, but he has some skills and he's still young and improving. He'll be one of the last guys on the roster and will have a chance to play some special teams and see if he can continue to get better or until someone better comes along. Once Crowder is healthy he'll probably be released.
