Andrew Bynum was suspended 5 games for the start of next season.

Is this enough?  Too much?  Just right?

Since he's a Laker...I was really hoping they'd suspend him for much longer. Wink

OK.  I'll start.

I think that his elbow was (aside from outright fights), probably the worst act I've seen, within the field of play.  Basketball is weird.  If this were football, that's a 1 game suspension (6.25% of your season).   5 games is 6% of your season, but for some reason, it doesn't sound like as much.  ...especially because it's at the beginning of the season anyway, where games don't seem to matter as much.

I guess I'm OK with the penalty as it, though, I think 7 games might've been a little better, since it's a "problem" player.

Five games is enough, it just shouldn't be at the start of the season in some worthless games.  Since he committed the flagrant foul in a playoff game, the game suspensions should be assessed in playoff games.  What a lame apology he made, does anyone think he was sorry??  Hopefully next season Dallas will get their payback on him.

Hmmm he intentionally fouls a player and gets ejected with a 5 game suspension. Wade intentionally fouls a player and causes a significant injury, and gets nothing.

That's because one of them was blatantly intentional to everyone (Bynum's foul), and the other (Wade's) was questionable at best, and is only being talked about by Celtics fans and people who hate Lebron/The Heat.

Remove the hate goggles, and the question you asked seems kind of ridiculous.

Wade didn't' intentionally injure anybody.  That's just straight up trolling.

Carry it forward to the following year, I'd be happy with him never having to serve out the suspension if he never was in the playoffs again.

Yeah when you lose almost 3/4 of a million dollars that is a pretty big hit. That stings more than anything I am sure.

He leg swept him to pull him down to draw a foul. The injury may have been unintentional, he intended to try and draw a foul by bringing him down. This is a common practice in the league and needs to be stopped. Perhaps you should take off your biased goggles.
If the injury had turned out to be much worse than it is, and affected his career, people would still be talkiing about it. Even Jim Rome said he thought it might seriously affect his career when he saw the elbow bend that way.
But you have such a love affair with all things Heat, you cannot see that Wade intentionally took him down and the injury came directly because of it.

It is not trolling. Bynum did not intentionally injure anyone either. Both of them went out of their way to commit fouls. Bynum's while classless against a much smaller player, did not injure him. Wade was intentionally trying to draw a foul against Rondo and pulled him down by taking his legs out. The intention to commit a foul on both their parts were the same, the results were completely different.
The league needs to seriously step up and shut down the intentional and blatant attempts to draw fouls through flopping, or grabbing players and pulling them down.
If you pull down a player in an attempt to draw a foul and they are injured, you should be ejected and suspended at least a game.

It will never happen but it would be nice.
