I thought the part where he said he missed his kids birthday's, pee wee football games, and wouldn't take them to the movies cause he was chasing his dream was a bit tacky.

Admitting he put himself before his kids. Call me crazy, sort of came off as a selfish SOB.

The part about his grandmother and his brother was nice though.

Yea but at the same time he was doing it for his kids.. Thats why I think he was tanking them..

In all honesty, what professional athlete or coach doesn't ultimately have their career take the lead over family? That isn't to say there are not the family moments, but the career is usually #1.
