They don't have full time team captains, they are going to be decided by Philbin each week. Not sure who it was this week.

Call me crazy but I actually love the decisions that Philbin has made this year. Make no mistake, this is HIS team, NOT the players.

Marshall - not team player - gone.
Davis - not team player - gone.
Ocho Cinco - not team player - gone.
Yeremiah Bell - longtime veteran - gone.
Dansby - vocal early on - told to quiet down.
No team captains - Philbin will pick them.

Don't forget that he lost a son prior to coming to Miami too and he didn't let it get in the way of his becoming a head coach for the Dolphins. His Mr Nice guy demeanor is a facade. This guy is tough as nails and I LOVE it!! They haven't had a head coach like this since Jimmy. Saban and Sparano both tried to look tough, but Saban didn't have the respect of the players and Sparano was too much "one of the guys". I don't think Philbin has a problem with telling it like it is. I wouldn't be surprised to see him call someone out to the media at sometime during the year which is something that Sparano would NEVER do.

They pick different captains every game.  I actually like this strategy.

It was Brandon Fields, Devon Bess and Randy Starks for this game. The honorary captains were Bob Kuechenberg and Dick Anderson.

The coaches pick new ones each week. When the team makes the playoffs (whenever that may be)  then the players will get to pick full time  captains each year.
